Intro: G D7 Em C

   G D7
Hello, we haven't talked in quite some time
   Em C G
I know I haven't been the best of sons
-G- D7
Hello, I've been traveling in the desert of my mind
    Em C
And I haven't found a drop...
    G D7
Of life.
-D7 - Em C
I haven't found a drop...Of you

-C- G D7
I haven't found a drop...
                  Em C
I haven't found a drop...
    G D7 Em C
Of water
-C- G D7 Em C
Waaaaaater Ooohh
G D7 Em C
ahh...

G
I tried desperately to run through the sand
      D7
As I hold the water in the palm of my hand
 Em
'Cause it's all that I have, and it's all that I need
         C
And the waves of the water mean nothing to me
G
But I tried my best and all that I can
         D7
To hold tightly onto what's left in my hand
Em
But no matter how, how tightly I will strain
    C
The sand will slow me down, and the water will drain
G
I'm just begin dramatic, in fact
                D7
I'm only at it again

As an addict with a pen

Who's addicted to wind
       Em
As it blows me back and forth

Mindless, spineless, and pretend
    C
Of course I'll be here again

See you tomorrow
                     G
But it's the end of today

End of my ways

As a walking denial
    D7
My trial was filed

As a crazy suicidal headcase
         Em
But you specialize in dying
                             C
You hear me screaming, "Father!"

And I'm lying here just crying
                       G D7 Em C
So wash me with your water

--Chords are the same as before through the end--

Waaaaaaater

Hello, we haven't talked in quite some time
I know I haven't been the best of sons
Hello, I've been traveling in the desert of my mind
And I, I haven't found a drop...of life!
I haven't found a drop...of You!
I haven't found a drooooooop...
I haven't found a drooooooop...
Of water...

  1. Nomanomaye

Put a capo on the 1st fret, switch D7 to BE and it sounds like heaven !

  2. if u want the song to sound a little bit happier, i like to use the strumming pattern D-D-U-D-D-U-D-D-U-D for each chord! <3

  3. unluckyboy

everyone says to use D instead of D7 but I tend to use B7. it’s a little strange but i think it adds something

  4. Does anyone know the strum pattern?? >.<

  5. which one is the easiest but still sounds good at the same time?

  6. i transposed the intro from a piano music sheet:

    ——–
    —7–7-
    -7–7— 1x
    ——–

    ——-
    —5–5
    -7–7– 4x
    ——-

    ——–
    —7–7-
    -6–6— 1x
    ——–

    ——–
    —5–5-
    -6–6— x4
    ——–

    ——–
    —7–7-
    -4–4— 1x
    ——–

    ——–
    —5–5-
    -4–4— 4x
    ——–

    ——–
    —7–7-
    -0–0— 1x
    ——–

    ——–
    —5–5-
-0–0— 3x (sounds better to me, idk)
    ——–

repeat all of this once again and then do the regular chords intro (G D7 Em C)

I usually just play the amount of repeats of the 2 notes very aproximately and fairly quickly. good luck!
