Verse:
    Bb F
The air begins to feel a little thin
     Dm C
As I start the car and then I begin
   Bb F
To add the miles piled up behind me
  Dm C
I barely feel a smile deep inside me

      Bb F
And I begin to envy the headlights driving south
          Dm C
I want to crack the door so I can just fall out
     Bb F
But then I remember when you packed my car
    Dm C
You reached in the back and bucked up your heart
    Bb F Dm C
For me to drive away with

Chorus:
  Bb F Dm
I began to understand
   C Bb
Why God died

Interlude -x2-: Bb F Dm C

Verse:
    Bb F
The demon sat there waiting on her porch
         Dm C
It was a little dark so we held a makeshift torch
    Bb F
And when my car was far out of sight
   Dm C
He crept in her room and stayed there for the night

           Bb
And then I felt chills in my bones
             F
The breath I saw was not my own
          Dm
I knew my skin that wrapped my frame
        C
Wasn't made to play this game
            Bb
And then I saw Him, torch in hand
            F
He laid it out, what he had planned
           Dm
And then I said, I'll take the grave
              C
Please, just send them all my way

Interlude -x2-: Bb F Dm C

Chorus:
  Bb F Dm
I began to understand
  C
Why God died

Interlude -x2-: Bb F Dm C

Outro:
    Bb F
The air begins to feel a little thin
         Dm C
As we're waiting for the morning to begin
Bb F
But for now you told me to hold this jar
           Dm
And when I looked inside, I saw
         C
It held your heart

    Bb F Dm C
For me to walk away with
  Bb F Dm
I began to understand
  C
Why God died

  1. Dude, Jumpsuit has a car, and Nico and The Niners has a torch, you know what’s next.

  2. Corinne Johnson

I play it transposed +2 and I like to end it with C G D instead of just C G.

  3. ive got a jar of dirt!

  4. the pattern i used was D D D DUD D D DU

  5. It’s actually goes Bb, F, Dm and then Csus4. I can hear it from the piano. To do the Csus4 shape, just do your C and then add a finger to the first fret of the 2nd lower string.

  6. Dat lone birb

I’m sorry but when it gets to the lyric: “But for now you told me to hold this jar and when I looked inside, I saw It held your heart”

I cant not think of pirates of the Caribbean I got a jar of dirt…

  7. Panic! At the twenty øne chemical disco brides

Hai yeah that’s what I was thinking, but to play forest, I put a capo on the third fret

  8. Legit same chords as forest…

  9. ThatCrazyPanda

+2 is much better to play in. It sounds better and it’s easier to play!
