Playing songs with just a few chords
You do not need to know dozens of chords to play music you love. A surprising number of well-known songs use only two, three or four chords. Here is how to make the most of these lists.
How many chords do I really need?
Start hereFewer than you think. Learn C, G, Am and F and a huge slice of pop and folk opens up. Plenty of classics get by on two or three chords, so you can play real songs in your first week.
Which chords should I learn first?

What if a song has more chords than I want?
SimplifyUse the built-in transposer to shift a song into easier shapes, or the simplify feature to drop the trickier chords. A four-chord song can often become a comfortable three-chord one.
Are fewer chords always easier?
