Lol llama

It’s way easier if you just do Am G C for the whole song. It also suits sopranos better. Hope this helps :)

grilledcheesebanana

This is actually really helpful. Thanks!

Boulevard of broken dreams

That is true and I think it sounds better that way. For the strum I recommend DD UDU. Great song 👍😁

Random person

I find DD UU DU fits better

I agree, DD UU DU

melissa

vegan Sprinkles

Martin

Actually, it’s DD UDU for verse and DDU UDU for chorus.

Flower of a million cats

Don’t bully people and call them stupid! Everyone has their opinions and even you get it wrong sometimes. Nobody’s perfect. Don’t ruin safe places like this with negative comments!

Flower of a million cats

Don’t say other people are stupid!!! No ones perfect and you have no right to bully in safe places like this!!

YourMom

Okay, while I’m sure most of us appreciate you sticking up for someone, I’m sure it was just a joke. “Poopy plop”? I mean, cmon.

Rachel Racine

please be kind! Learning an instrument can be a struggle for some people, and we should be kind anyway especially in this situation (COVID-19). Thank you for understanding.

melissa

The realtinygog

Patrica

Aanya.Crazy

Yes that is true but there is also the F chord

Hannah Kovic

That’s what I’ve always done. Agree 100%

Anya

I preferred it when the song used those chords because I think this song is good for beginners and the chords they have put now is quite hard

HelpiCantWriteSongs

sheera aharoni

there’s a chord missing, the bridge doesn’t sound right. may I suggest:

I just wanna, I just wanna know – Am, G
if you’re gonna, if you’re gonna stay – C, F
I just gotta, I just gotta know – Am, G
I can’t have it, I can’t have it – C
any other way – F

noneofyourbeezwaxbruh

agreed the F was missing I was hoping I wasn’t the only one who noticed lol

Your fellow weeb

My way of doing this is Am – DDUDU, G – DDUDU, C – DDUDU

MissApollo

Same.

marianna

same

renny

i was sitting in my bed strumming Am- DDUDU, G- DDUDU, C- DDUDU DDUDU for a solid 15 minutes, it sounds amazing, thank you

Sammy

Honestly same haha

annabethlester

Silentdiscription

Martin

Same but only for verses, for chorus DDU UDU is the best

Sophie Foster

chicken nuggets

it sounds weird to me too. playing Am, G and C sounds much better!!

noneofyourbeezwaxbruh

yep

Jazzy

it’s ok for me… oh and by the way… Sophie Foster is my fave! hooray Shannon Messanger!!!

thecimfam_army_blink

kinda yeah. Sophie Foster is my favorite too btw.

TheUkePlayer1217

For all you people who can’t play the transition from Am to G without going slow, try F instead of G.

This was the first song I learned on the Ukulele. :)

JustMonika

You could also change the fingering to 2 on the C string, 3 on the E string and 1 on the A string, so you can just slide over a string instead of completely changing your hand position

noneya

I accidentally learned it this way, and let me just say that I never would have been able to play it the way that it was “supposed” to be played. It’s much easier to switch between chords by having this hand position instead. It took me about two weeks to even learn this version though, so keep practicing beginners!!!

Emily

omg this is exactly how i learnt cuz i cant transition quick enough cuz im a beginner

Aashuii

This was also my first song i learned i was such a noob lol

jamie

if you learn ocean eyes it helps a lot with the fast transition

annabelle

its easy to transition if you use your middle finger for Am because then you can just have your index finger hovering over A string and your ring finger hovering over E string because then you only have to put your middle finger back a string to do G! i hope that was easy to read haha

diET cOkE

my cousin taught me this when I was just 9 yrs. I nailed it by doing it the simple way. strum pattern DD UDU and chords Am G & C. this way is easiest for beginners

sNaZZy

ahh if only my cousin could teach me the ukulele..

JAes

I I’m a beginner any pointers

Kaylyn Farrell

I recommend practicing some really easy chords and songs with those chords. Then starting to use slightly more difficult chords as you go on

GetOutNubs

Start with Counting Stars or Can’t Help Falling in Love

ukulila

The only thing I really have to say is Practice makes Perfect. When I started learning I would sit in my room for hours just going C G Am F. I’ve been doing this for about a year now and I sound so much better! Believe in yourself babe and keep going! ILYSM

Flower of a million cats

I am also relatively new to playing. This was the 2nd song I mastered, the first one I learned was ‘I Don’t know my name’ by Grace VanderWaal. So yes, playing with easier chords first is the best way to master songs.

sNaZZy

love the name

Anonymous

Put it on -1, it’s three basic chords :)
