remember keys
C F C
Some nights I stay up cashing in my bad luck.
C G
Some nights I call it a draw.
C F C
Some nights I wish that my lips could build a castle.
F C G
Some nights I wish they'd just fall off

       F C F C
But I still wake up, I still see your ghost.
               F C G
Oh Lord, I'm still not sure what I stand for, oh.
F C F C
What do I stand for? What do I stand for?
F G C F C F C G
Most nights, I don't know anymore

This is it, boys. This is war.
F C
What are we waiting for?
F C G
Why don't we break the rules already?
I was never one to believe the hype.
F C
Save that for the black and white.
       F C
I try twice as hard and I'm half as liked,
But here they come again to jack my style
And that's alright
            F C
I found a martyr in my bed tonight.
    F C
She stops my bones from wondering
Just who I am, who I am, who I am.
C F C F G
Yeah, oh who am I mmmm mmmmm

Chorus - same pattern as first -:
Well, some nights, I wish that this all would end
Cause I could use some friends for a change
And some nights, I'm scared you'll forget me again
Some nights, I always win, I always win...

       F C F C
But I still wake up, I still see your ghost.
               F C G
Oh Lord, I'm still not sure what I stand for, oh.
F C F C
What do I stand for? What do I stand for?
F G C F C F C G
Most nights, I don't know anymore

Interlude: C-F-C-F-C-F-G

So this is it? I sold my soul for this?
Washed my hands of that for this?
I miss my mom and dad for this?
No. When I see stars, that's all they are.

When I hear songs, they sound like a swan.
         F C F G
So come on. Oh, come on. Oh, come on. Oh, come on!

Verse - same pattern as first -:
That is it, guys, that is all.
Five minutes in and I'm bored again.
Ten years of this, and I'm not sure if anybody understands.
This is not one for the folks back home.
I'm sorry to leave, Mom, I had to go.
Who the xxxx wants to die alone all dried up in the desert sun?

My heart is breaking for my sister
And the con that she called love.
But when I look into my nephew's eyes,
Man, you wouldn't believe
C G
The most amazing things that can come from.
                 C F C F C G
Some terrible nights.

Outro - same pattern as before -:
The other night, you wouldn't believe the dream I just had about you and me
I called you up, but we'd both agree
It's for the best you didn't listen
It's for the best we get our distance.

On “most nights” I think Am sounds better than F. For strumming I do

  3. giannaramon

what’s a good stemming pattern for this?

  4. UkulelePlayingSquid

I love this song but I found one lyric mess up
When it says who I am who I am who I am
It should say who am I who am I who am I , like in the last part of the first verse. Other than that I LOVE this song!

  5. is it just me or does it seem like some ppl just read these to complain…

  6. If you wanted the correct lyrics, you should have gone to A-Z Lyrics or something. The main purpose of this website is to give chords, not lyrics.

    F C G
some nights i call it a draw ALSO vv

    F G C F C F C (F) G
Most nights, I don’t know anymore

Have yet to look through the rest, but that how the intro/chorus should be. (x) means add that chord.

  18. can you please show the chords for each chorus, it’s hard to remember where the chords are throughout the song, but otherwise, GREAT JOB! THANK YOU THANK YOU! YOU JUST TAUGHT ME MY FIRST SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

  19. Many of the lyrics are incorrect, and there are multiple missing chords.

    • If there are no chords, it means the same pattern is used as before. I have now added this to the separate parts. There was one chorus missing, but apart from that I can’t find any lyrics mistakes. Feel free to tell me which lyrics are incorrect.
