if you dont want to play the e chord how its written (because lets be honest, thats really difficult) another way of playing it is to bar your index finger across all of the strings on the 4th fret and put your pinky finger on the 7th fret of the A string

-2 is easier (and then you can put a capo on the second fret if you don’t want to change the key)
So I have seen that on many tutorial people struggled with the E chord (and I’m a part of those people) so lot of people recommend playing E7 but it don’t sound the same. In fact if you wanna have the same sound as an E chord, just mute the C string while playing the E7 chord, and it sounds exactly like an E ! Hope I helped !
directions for the intro: put your index finger on the first string of the fourth fret, then put your middle finger on the 2nd string fifth fret. Do the tune, but then move your middle finger to the 4th fret but stay on the same string.THEN remove your first finger,then move your middle finger to the 2nd fret but still be on the same string. Do the tune but once you get to the end remove your middle finger and pick. hopefully this was clear enough 😛
At the part where it says “though im weak and beaten down” and throughout that whole part the A and the Gbm need to be switched. Also an easy alternative for E is put your first finger on the second fret of the A string and then on the fourth fret with your other fingers play it like a D.
the e on this is diabolical but gbm sounds SO right and that disappears whenever i transpose it like people tell me to i need an alternative to e plsssss i hate it so much its so annoying

For the strumming I do 2nd string, 4th string, 3rd sting then 4th string again. Use your thumb for the 2nd and 3rd string then pinch with your index/forefinger for the 4th ^^

If you want to pluck the intro, start with your index finger on the second fret of the G string, and the pinky on the fourth fret of the A string. Pluck from the G steing to the A string twice (not touching any other strings), the move your index finger to the first fret of the G string and pluck once.
For the second part, put your index finger back on the second fret of the G string and the middle finger on the second fret of the E string. Pluck from the E string to the G string twice (I’m too lazy to find the actual notes) and the take your middle finger off the string and pluck E. You have half of the song down, then just play the rest of the chords the way they should be played.
Another (in my opinion, simpler) way to play the E chord is to bar the whole fourth fret with your index finger and put your pinky finger all the way on the 7th fret of the A string. It’s higher, but it sounds clearer and it’s easier.
