Intro: A Gbm D A

Verse:
A
White lips, pale face,
                     Gbm
Breathing in snowflakes,
           D A
Burnt lungs, sour taste.
A
Light's gone, day's end,
                    Gbm
Struggling to pay rent,
          D A
Long nights, strange men.

Chorus:
Bm7 D
And they say she's in the Class a Team,
                A
Stuck in her daydream,
                    E Bm7
Been this way since 18, but lately her face seems
                  D
Slowly sinking, wasting,
                A
Crumbling like pastries,

And they scream,
E
The worst things in life come free to us,
Gbm D
Cos we're just under the upperhand,
A
And go mad for a couple of grams,
Gbm D A
And she don't want to go outside tonight,
       Gbm D
And in a pipe she flies to the Motherland,
    A
Or sells love to another man,
Gbm D
It's too cold outside,
A Gbm
For angels to fly,
E Gbm
Angels to fly,

Verse:
A
Ripped gloves, raincoat,
                           Gbm
Tried to swim and stay afloat,
         D A
Dry house, wet clothes.

Loose change, bank notes,
                    Gbm
Weary-eyed, dry throat,
        D A
Call girl, no phone.

Chorus:
Bm7 D
And they say she's in the Class a Team,
                A
Stuck in her daydream,
                    E Bm7
Been this way since 18, but lately her face seems
                  D
Slowly sinking, wasting,
                A
Crumbling like pastries,

And they scream,
E
The worst things in life come free to us,
Gbm D
Cos we're just under the upperhand,
A
And go mad for a couple of grams,
Gbm D A
And she don't want to go outside tonight,
       Gbm D
And in a pipe she flies to the Motherland,
    A
Or sells love to another man,
Gbm D
It's too cold outside,
A Gbm
For angels to fly,
E Gbm
Angels to fly,
Bm7 D
An angel will die.

Bridge:
A E
Covered in white,
Gbm
Closed eye,
     D A
And hoping for a better life,
Bm D
This time, we'll fade out tonight,
A Gbm
Straight down the line.

Chorus:
Bm7 D
And they say she's in the Class a Team,
                A
Stuck in her daydream,
                    E Bm7
Been this way since 18, but lately her face seems
                  D
Slowly sinking, wasting,
                A
Crumbling like pastries,

And they scream,
E
The worst things in life come free to us,
Gbm D
Cos we're just under the upperhand,
A
And go mad for a couple of grams,
Gbm D A
And she don't want to go outside tonight,
       Gbm D
And in a pipe she flies to the Motherland,
    A
Or sells love to another man,
Gbm D
It's too cold outside,
A Gbm
For angels to fly,
E Gbm
Angels to fly,
D Gbm
To fly, fly,
A Gbm E Gbm
Angels to fly, to fly, to fly,
A Gbm
Angels to die.

  1. +3 sounds great with a dduudu pattern. i just didn’t use Dm7 and instead i use dm all the way through

  2. +3 and play Dm instead of Dm7 is what I do, it’s pretty easy and sounds good

  3. If you use -2, which I personally think sounds great with a ddudu strumming, I would put a capo on the second fret. It makes it sounds much closer the Ed Sheeran’s version I think :)

  4. Does anyone else thing Bm7 sounds really weird?

  5. -4 sounds great (i think??) with a DDUUDU strumming pattern

  6. Most of you here offered the strumming patterns dduudu or ddudu, and they’re fine but i use them for everything so if anyone has an idea for something else please share! It could be fingerpicking or just something that would fit the song better

    • for finger style I would pluck the c string and e string. it sounds v good

    • I sort of come up with my own strumming patterns along the way. For the verses I use d-ddu. And for the chorus I use d-du-d-du, I’m a more melodic-ish, slow-ish way. For the bridge I use the same as the chorus, and for the final chorus I use one down strum with my thumb on each chord. I think it makes it sound very pleasant, easygoing, and soft. I hope this helped.

    • for most of the song I use du chuck du chuck d, and then for the chorus i use one down stum and then one more right before you change chords, and then i go back to original du pattern at the second am7 of the chorus

  7. i do it in plus 3 and it sounds very nice, instead of Dm7 use Dm, its easier (and it sounds better).
if you like this song, like me you could also hear the cover of grace vanderwaal.
ed sheeran and grace vanderwaal are my favourite singers

  8. TanyaDoesMusic

+3 and replace Dm7 with just Dm

  10. Van someone share the way tot hit the Sneers (i’m Dutch, don’t know how to call it)

  11. +3 sounds really good and if dm7 is too hard regular d sounds good!

  12. so it isn’t okay to use to make a cover of? or is it?

  13. if you’re on -2 use Am instead of A7

  14. is anyone else having a hard time with the chords going into the bridge? >:(

  15. I like this song sooooo much and I’m glad for all of the other comments to help me with this song! Also, I was wondering for anyone’s opinion…. is this a good song for a talent show?

  16. play e7 instead of the normal e, it sounds better and its easier XD

  17. Hey if the E chord in here is too hard for you like it was for me, you can do a different E which is 4442

  18. does anyone know how to play the riff on the verses like in the 5 seconds of summer cover? even if you only know it on guitar that’s just as good, thanks x

  19. Dyenamicrat724

If you look at Napster and ytube you can listen to the strumming pattern

    ;-)

  20. celesteefdez
