Intro:

Oh, misty eye of the mountain below

Keep careful watch of my brothers' souls

And should the sky be filled with fire and smoke
                           Bbm
Keep watching over Durin's son

Verse:
              Bbm Db
If this is to end in fire
              Ab Gb
Then we shall all burn together
          Bbm Db Ab Ebm7
Watch the flames climb high into the night
        Bbm Db Ab Gb
Calling out father, stand by and we will
          Ebm7 Fm Gb
Watch the flames burn auburn on the mountain side

                 Bbm Db
And if we should die tonight
               Ab Gb
Then we should all die together
        Bbm Db Ab Ebm7
Raise a glass of wine for the last time
        Bbm Db Ab Gb
Calling out father, prepare as we will
          Ebm7 Fm Gb
Watch the flames burn auburn on the mountain side
    Ebm7 Fm Gb
Desolation comes upon the sky

Chorus:
          Bbm Gb Ab Bbm
Now I see fire, inside the mountain
      Bbm Gb Ab Bbm
I see fire, burning the trees
          Bbm Gb Ab Bbm
And I see fire, hollowing souls
      Bbm Gb Ab Ebm7
I see fire, blood in the breeze

And I hope that you'll remember me

Verse:
              Bbm Db
Oh, should my people fall
            Ab Gb
Then surely I'll do the same
            Bbm Db
Confined in mountain halls
           Ab Ebm7
We got too close to the flame
        Bbm Db Ab Gb
Calling out father hold fast and we will
          Ebm7 Fm Gb
Watch the flames burn auburn on the mountain side
    Ebm7 Fm Gb
Desolation comes upon the sky

Chorus:
          Bbm Gb Ab Bbm
Now I see fire, inside the mountain
      Bbm Gb Ab Bbm
I see fire, burning the trees
          Bbm Gb Ab Bbm
And I see fire, hollowing souls
      Bbm Gb Ab Ebm7
I see fire, blood in the breeze
                                Ebm7
And I hope that you'll remember me

Bridge:
           Bbm Db
And if the night is burning
       Ab Gb
I will cover my eyes
           Bbm Db
For if the dark returns then
   Ab Ebm7
My brothers will die
           Bbm Db
And as the sky's falling down
           Ab Gb
It crashed into this lonely town
              Ebm7
And with that shadow upon the ground
  Fm Gb Ab
I hear my people screaming out

Chorus:
          Bbm Gb Ab Bbm
Now I see fire, inside the mountain
      Bbm Gb Ab Bbm
I see fire, burning the trees
          Bbm Gb Ab Bbm
And I see fire, hollowing souls
      Bbm Gb Ab Bbm
I see fire, blood in the breeze

      Bbm Gb Ab Bbm
I see fire, oh you know I saw a city burning -fire-
      Bbm Gb Ab Bbm
I see fire, feel the heat upon my skin -fire-
          Bbm Gb Ab Bbm
And I see fire, oooooo -fire-
          Bbm Gb Ab Bbm
And I see fire burn auburn on the mountain side

  1. -1 works pretty good with my fairly high voice

  2. I’m a beginner, and the easiest for me was +4. Ukulele is awesome!

  3. What is the strumming pattern???

  4. This is how I play the intro

    A:————————-x—0h2–2–x—0–x-
    E:——————0h1—x–3—–3–x—0–x-
    C:-2h4p2—-2h4–0—x—0h2—–x—0–x-
    G:———0——-2——x————-x—2–x-

  5. Addictwitha_uke

The strumming pattern I use is: X X
Down on the first beat, down and up D DU D
on the 2 &, and down again on the fourth.

  6. watched the hobbit today and was like “totally need to play this.” happy new years, dudes!

  7. I found -4 to work best with my voice :)

  8. This is a riff that I came up with myself
( And if want to play this you have to do +4 so it’s in the right key )

    G– 0/2/0————————————-
    C—————-0/2———————-0/2
    E————-1———–1/3——-1-1——
    A———————1———-3————-

    Hope y’all like it!

  9. The riff throuhg out the song is

    G—————0———2———–2
    C—2/4/2—0—-2/4—0—–2—-0
    E————————-0/1—3—-0
    A——————————-0/2—0

    / Means hammer on

  10. +1 is easier to sing for me

  11. I’m in love with this! Thnx!

  12. Ukulele Dreamer

Can anyone tell me the picking/strumming pattern?

  13. What’s the strumming pattern?

  14. *UPDATE* Don’t hammer-on the C chord. It sounds better just as a regular strum.

  15. There is a YouTube tutorial for the intro. It’s 1 step down so change key to -1. Basically start with 1st finger on second fret of second string. Pluck and hammer-on 2nd and 4th fret then hammer-off back down to open c. So 2 4 2 0 on second string with only one pluck. Then pluck 1st string. Then strum up open chord Am7 with a hammer-on the 2nd fret of 1st string to play Am. Then strum down Am7 with a hammer on 3rd fret of 4th string to play C. Then strum a G chord with the last string open and hammer-on second fret of 4th string to play G. Then strum F chord. Practice 1st step until it sounds clear and fast then add each step one at a time until you can play the whole intro. If you have a capo on the first fret the fingering is the same and in the original key.

  16. lcutsinger

    +1 works best for me

  17. What should I use instead of Dm7

  18. Really good on -1 ?
