Intro:
Hey, leave a message

Verse:
C
Hey, call me back
         Am
When you get this
                     F
Or when you've got a minute
                 C G
We really need to talk
 C
Wait, you know what
              Am
Maybe just forget it
                      F
Cause by the time you get this
                    C G
Your number might be blocked

Pre-Chorus:
 Am C
Stay and blah blah blah
         F C G
You just want what you can't have
   Am C
No wait, I'll call the cops
             F C G
If you don't stop I'll call your dad

Chorus:
      F G C
And I hate to do this to you on your birthday
      Am E
Happy birthday by the way
         F G C
It's not you it's me and all that other bullxxxx
                Am
You know that's bullxxxx
           E F
Don't you, babe
             Fm C
I'm not your party favor

Verse:
C Am
Look, now I know we could've done it better
                        F
But we can't change the weather
                          C G
And the weather's come and gone
C Am
Books don't make sense if you read them backwards
                      F
You'll single out the wrong words
                       C G
Like you mishear all my songs

Pre-Chorus:
         Am C
You hear stay and blah blah blah
         F C G
You just want what you can't have
   Am C
No wait, I'll call the cops
             F C G
If you don't stop I'll call your dad

Chorus:
      F G C
And I hate to do this to you on your birthday
      Am E
Happy birthday by the way
         F G C
It's not you it's me and all that other bullxxxx
                Am
You know that's bullxxxx
           E F
Don't you, babe

I replaced the E for Em. E is really hard for me to do so I did Em. Also, the song sounds better with Em.

Billie.eilish.isthebest.avacado

Instead of E for me I didi it a different way by doing a d on the fourth fret with one finger doing am on the secod fret as normal. I tried EM but wasnt that keen on the sound so I recommend my method!

Tillyukulelesing

You can do a G instead and that still sounds great

Nicole

No I promise Em7 sounds WAY better

llanesha00044

yeah after trying em7 after em, em7 sounded better.

Nicole

Do Em7

harper

you can also use E7 as another alternitive

Fil

The E minor only works is you want the song to sound harmonic, but the true version uses dissonance.

Leo

An easier way of playing the E chord is barring the 4th fret and putting your 3rd finger on the 7th fret. It is literally the bar version of the E chord.

kjabhsdbj

E7 works so so so well i swear use that one

llanesha00044

I also replaced E for Em because E is hard for me too.

Laura

I do E by just removing my finger on the top of the note and it is much easier and sounds pretty good

Camille

thank you !!!, i think it sounds better than EM7, E, and everything else :)

BIGGEST AVACADO

same

Lulu Bee

E is really hard for me too, but with enough practice, I think we can do it. In the meantime, I would recommend learning E7. It is more difficult than Em, but it sounds closer to E. :)

Cady Leonard

I have no idea how to do an e, like my hands are too small ☹️

Bree

I use an E7 instead, because I have small hands as well

Trianna

I am clueless as well. My hands are NOT able to do an E for my life, but an Em sounds just as good and if I can do an Em you can too XD

ukulele

There is an alternative to do an E by putting your ring finger on all the frets on the 4th fret, but for this song an Em chord would sound better than an E chord.

Sariana

Try with an E7 :)!

Badgarageband

I have the same issue. I use G-4,C-4,A-0,E-2

biswas

I usually just do an Em….

Liz

I had the same issue, just keep trying to do E more often, it’ll be more accordingly the more you do it.

flowerycupoftea

Same

Unknown

I do em instead, I have the same problem

Maisy

Try Em

I is corekt

Replace it with Em it sound really good

Maria

I was having the same problem, then decided to take the 4th string with the thumb, helps a lot if you try a couple of times

keaunna

i used my thumb on string 4 3 and 2 on the 4th fret then for string one my index finger on fret 2

llanesha00044

same my hands are like baby hands. sometimes i struggle playing some cords

SavageSavarah

On the very last line, I like to add a C on “favor”. This song makes me sad but happy at the same time <3

michell

I actually love how it ends with the Fm. You can obviously play it however you like, but I think that ending it with that unresolved Fm sound really adds to the meaning of the song.

Nikki

I like to keep it silent on the last sentence and then do a C

llanesha00044

i do the same and i also agree :)

billie is brill-ie XD

just me who does a d-d-u-d-d after the first chorus with my hand covering the strings????? does that in the actual song x

Lolalola

DDUUDUUDUDUD is better. It looks hard but just do it slowly and you get it for the beginning 😁

Vee

DDU UDU DDU UDU Play that for every cord except for G and C endings. Sorry if that’s confusing just watch Elise Ucklands video for more help!

chloe

if any of you are finding hard to play e just play e7 instead that’s what i tend to do!

michell

For everyone saying they can’t do the E chord, I promise that if you keep practicing you’ll get it! I was CONVINCED that I couldn’t do one, but after a few weeks of trying to get it, I can say that I can do it now! It still takes me longer to switch to that chord than others, but I’m assuming that’ll get easier, too. Don’t give up, peeps <3

mighty gay lord

for the pre-chorus, i like to pluck the12th and 10th frets on the a string to replicate what it’s doing in the song.

also, @ everyone who can’t do the e chord: literally just bar the 4th fret and put your pinkie/ring finger on the a string of the 7th fret.

useless lesbian

for when she sing the last line of the verse, is go “I’m not your party favor”
F G C instead of whats written and i think it sounds better.

Wilderdyke

Great advice and I also am I useless lesbian

uku nerd

personally i like to do F Fm C,it gives it a more advanced sound:)

billieattheyromance

Here’s an alternate for E!

G-4
C-4
E-4
A-2

Nachocheese

Dude, that’s even harder xD

apollodparker@gmail.com

i usually use my thumb on the fourth fret on the top three strings, and then my middle finger for the A string if that helps!

keaunna

i used my thumb on string 4 3 and 2 on the 4th fret then for string one my index finger on fret 2

im cute ok

i replace ze Fm with with a Em7 MY FINGERS DONT REACH T-T

annabelle

i have really small hands and i use my index finger on g string 1st fret, my middle on e string first fret, and my pinky on a string third fret :)
