Intro:
Hey, leave a message

Verse:
C
Hey, call me back
         Am
When you get this
                     F
Or when you've got a minute
                 C G
We really need to talk
 C
Wait, you know what
              Am
Maybe just forget it
                      F
Cause by the time you get this
                    C G
Your number might be blocked

Pre-Chorus:
 Am C
Stay and blah blah blah
         F C G
You just want what you can't have
   Am C
No wait, I'll call the cops
             F C G
If you don't stop I'll call your dad

Chorus:
      F G C
And I hate to do this to you on your birthday
      Am E
Happy birthday by the way
         F G C
It's not you it's me and all that other bullxxxx
                Am
You know that's bullxxxx
           E F
Don't you, babe
             Fm C
I'm not your party favor

Verse:
C Am
Look, now I know we could've done it better
                        F
But we can't change the weather
                          C G
And the weather's come and gone
C Am
Books don't make sense if you read them backwards
                      F
You'll single out the wrong words
                       C G
Like you mishear all my songs

Pre-Chorus:
         Am C
You hear stay and blah blah blah
         F C G
You just want what you can't have
   Am C
No wait, I'll call the cops
             F C G
If you don't stop I'll call your dad

Chorus:
      F G C
And I hate to do this to you on your birthday
      Am E
Happy birthday by the way
         F G C
It's not you it's me and all that other bullxxxx
                Am
You know that's bullxxxx
           E F
Don't you, babe
             Fm
I'm not your party favor

  1. I replaced the E for Em. E is really hard for me to do so I did Em. Also, the song sounds better with Em.

  2. mighty gay lord

for the pre-chorus, i like to pluck the12th and 10th frets on the a string to replicate what it’s doing in the song.

also, @ everyone who can’t do the e chord: literally just bar the 4th fret and put your pinkie/ring finger on the a string of the 7th fret.

  3. billieattheyromance

    Here’s an alternate for E!

    G-4
    C-4
    E-4
    A-2

  4. Cady Leonard

I have no idea how to do an e, like my hands are too small ☹️

  5. DDU UDU DDU UDU Play that for every cord except for G and C endings. Sorry if that’s confusing just watch Elise Ucklands video for more help!

  6. joshiedun

i tend to lightly mute all the strings and strum —> before the beginning of the song and before verses start.

  7. wherearetheavocados

    Strumming pattern plz?

  8. Instead of a E you can do an A7
oOoo <- that is the chord on the Ukulele!
    oooo
    oooo
    oooo

  9. I can’t even do E. my fingers aren’t able to be place at the right chord

  10. e7 instead of E and G7 instead of Fm, I think they sound a bit better that way and it’s easier to play. Good luck !!

  11. The amazingly sarcastic annoying dude

Hello children FYI I played this side by the song and just so you know they are the right notes children cheerio

  12. Michael

On the last line when you say favour, add a c chord and play slowly across strings. I feel its a nice finish

  13. Curbneysandal

Is there an alternative to Fm? It just doesn’t sound right to me.

  14. I threw a capo on the 2nd fret and I think I like it a bit better

  15. Angelina Mallano

This was really easy and helpful, I’ve been looking everywhere for this song and everywhere else was way to advanced so thank you!!! 😁😁😁

  16. Is there like an alternative/easier way to play the E cord? I can’t stretch my fingers far enough for that one lol

  17. Wuts the strumming pattern??
