Intro: Cmaj7 Gmaj7 Am Gmaj7

Verse 1:
Cmaj7
Don't be that way
      Gmaj7
Fall apart twice a day
       Am Gmaj7
I just wish you could feel what you say
Cmaj7
Show, never tell
      Gmaj7
But I know you too well
        Am D Dsus4 D
Kind of mood that you wish you could sell

Chorus:
   Cmaj7
If teardrops could be bottled
           Gmaj7
There'd be swimming pools filled by models
            Am B
Told "that tight dress is what makes you a whore"
      Cmaj7
If "I love you" was a promise
          Gmaj7
Would you break it, if you're honest
         Am D Dsus4 D
Tell the mirror what you know she's heard before

Verse 2:
Cmaj7
Hands getting cold
       Gmaj7
Losing feeling's getting old
      Am Gmaj7
Was I made from a broken mold?
Cmaj7
Hurt, I can't shake
           Gmaj7
We've made every mistake
     Am D Dsus4 D
Only you know the way that I break

Chorus:
   Cmaj7
If teardrops could be bottled
           Gmaj7
There'd be swimming pools filled by models
            Am B
Told "that tight dress is what makes you a whore"
      Cmaj7
If "I love you" was a promise
          Gmaj7
Would you break it, if you're honest

  1. The way i like to strum this is playing every chord twice and doing a D-x the first time and a DDD-x the second time!! I love the way it sounds

  2. I use DDDDU twice on each note. It’s easy and sounds good to me. Hope this helps.

(If you always strum with the Island Strumming Pattern DDU-UDU, and you can’t easily change from that strumming pattern I would recommend using this strumming pattern. Bc I felt like I couldn’t do any other strumming pattern, then I tried this and it worked. Lol hope this helps)

  3. Is so easy

  4. Bryonna Gwendolyn

I can’t sing really soft like she does but I do sound pretty good with a stronger voice. I suggest something other than 0 if you cant sing like her.

  5. DUUD and one silence

  6. woopukulele

no, it doesn’t, it sounds better with no capo (more like the original song).

  7. Vvalle2023

    i use DDU UDU

  8. i’m using DD and then mute the strings which sounds really good

  9. The strumming pattern that I think works well is DDUD down check for each line
Then for the I don’t wanna be you anymore part you would do DDDUD down check
For any played part of the E chord you would do one D

  10. Abigail Snyder

The best way to strum this is D * (pause) DDD *
*= chucking (stopping the sound with your hand)
    and on the Am and Gmaj7 lines strum D * D* D
    On the chorus: D * (pause) D*

  11. I use strum pattern

    D D UU D D UU
So it kinda has a slow vibe but im not leaving empty space.

  12. I personally like the strumming pattern DDDU-DDU

  13. HELLER PEOPLE

on “idontwannabeyou” I strum for each word down. then on anymore I strum down and let it ring out. on the ending.

  14. Kaytlynn Miller

I love this a good strumming pattern is DDDUDUD then on the last down strum switch to the next cord it sound realistic to the song

  15. noelle winchester

guys i use DDDU & it’s sooo easy

  16. For strumming, DDU-DDU works really well

  17. I use a capo on the first fret. Sounds more “cosy” in a way
