6 ukulele chords used in "Helena" by My Chemical Romance: A, B, C, Dbm, E and Abm

JUST PLAY “A” INSTEAD “C”
IT’S NOT Cm OR C dim
OKAY
hey guys! so i play this song a little differently and found a good way that sounds right!
if you go to -2 and put your capo on the first fret, that’s essentially how i play it. however, i usually switch out the bb for a gb – it just sounds better to me. i also switch out the gbm to gb, but that’s just my personal preference, gbm works well too.
FOR THE CHORUS: i put in some extra chords and it came out REALLY well. here’s how i play it:
(bm) so long
(gb) and goodnight
(g) so long
(a) and goodnight
(d)
i hope this helps!!! 🙂
-2 I think sounds really nice. I also put a capo on the second fret, to keep it in the same key, but it just fits my voice better on -2 and it is an easier version
hello people with good taste
Original tuning sounds better if you replace the C in the chorus with Am! Personally I play 1003 to keep the c but make it sound sadder lol. I also add an Ab for flavor.
Here’s what it would look like:
E B Ab Dbm What's the worst thing I can say? Things are better if I stay Am+C (1003) E So long and goodnight, so long and goodnightimo, a lot of discussions about whether the C during the chorus is really a C. To me, it’s important to play the C, but before you play the E, slip a Cm in to smoothen things.
Awesome job with the chords! My only critique is that in chorus I’d change the C to an A:)
-4 is FOR SURE the easiest one!! Just change the Ab to a G and its PERFECT!
I sing Soprano and Alto and I find this to be SUPER easy on the voice! Love the arrangement!
-4
-1 sounds really pretty
The C can be changed to a Cm to match the minor progression, and a B can be added before the E on “so long, not”.
Dbm. Cm. B. E
So long and goodnight, so long not goodnight
-4 if you’re looking for an easier version. That’s what works best for me.
In my opinion, -4 sounds the best and is the easiest to play
-4 is the easiest and sounds cute
btw for the strumming pattern i use ddu except intro and bridge but idk
For me I find -4 the easiest. And instead of playing Ab I play G.
I really like how this sounds, but the lyrics in the chorus says, “So long and goodnight, so long not goodnight,” instead of “So long and goodnight, so long and goodnight.”
As a baritone, I think -2 works best for me.
they have the lyrics wrong its “so long, not goodnight” its not “so long, and goodnight”
As a strumming pattern use up and down cosntantly it sounds nice
Guys, what strumming pattern do I follow? Please help…
