In my opinion, the song doesn’t sound quite like Melanie’s. Her version gives off a creepier vibe. It may not sound right, but if you change the chords to Em C Am B or Em C G B, it might sound kinda better. This is completely optional and only works if you change the notes you sing a bit.
I think that Am, C, F, G with a DDU-UDU strumming pattern sounds similar yo the song and is super easy as well 🙂

I used +2 and single strumed down then patted my ukulele once. +2 seemed to be more in my vocal range. It sounded more indie but I was cool with that. On the chorus I did fast down strums

I love the chords, but the Ab chords needs to go… it doesn’t sound quite right . I’ve been using Gm instead, I know Gm might not be correct but its okay for me. Kinda sounds like Sweater Weather lol

+2 sounds really good, it’s easier, and it sounds especially better with a lower voice. It doesn’t sound as creepy but it does sound sadder

So I switched the first two chords around I used -1 but instead of D, Bm, G, A I did Bm, D, G, A I’m pretty sure this is how it’s supposed to sound
