8 ukulele chords used in "Boys Will Be Bugs" by Cavetown: A, B, D, E, E7, Gb, G and Ab

Cavetown is underrated I love these songs
If you don’t want to use the profanity from the original song you can say “I’ll mess you up if you’re mean to bugs” (Verse 1) and “My mom told me that she’s worried, and I’m sick of hearing it” (Verse 3) 🙂
my mom heard me playing this song… she then asked if I was gay. -w-
banana bread petition.
You can also pluck the c and e string (not together like in order) with every chord and then strum down
So:
D: c, e, strum down
A: c, e, strum down
Gb: c, e, strum down
G: c, e, strum down.
It sound even more like the one robbie did if you tune it down to f# b d# g#
POV: you are lgbtq+
I adore this song, Cavetown is so underrated 🙂
This song is amazing on ukulele!!!!
I think it sounds really cool when you pluck the C and E strings, and then pluck the G string right before switching to the next chord. I would suggest plucking the G string only at the ends of Gb and D, it sounds a lot more natural and like the song when you play it that way.
tuning your ukulele half a step down makes it have a really nice sound!
Dude, I absolutely love this song! Thx, I didn’t use the cuss words tho
hjönk hjönk? :>
YESSS JUST TURNED 14 A FEW DAYS AGO I CAN FINALLY SING THIS IN FULL TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!
omg the ukulele community is so wholesome and nice i feel like im gonna cryy aaaa. ps. luv u guys<3.
strumming pattern?
Here are my recommendations for this song:
In the parts with bad words, you can say “I’ll mess you up if you’re mean to bugs” (in Verse 1) and “My mom told me that she’s worried and I couldn’t care a bit” (in Verse 3).
Also, for a version that’s easier for most of the song, transpose it to -2 and put a capo on the second fret. An alternate way to play the E chord is 4442 (fingers on the fourth fret for the G, C, and E strings and your finger on the second fret for the A string). The ending, however, is still difficult with the Gb, and if anybody has any alternate recommendations, please tell me!
I hope this helps! 🙂
If you tune your uke a half step down (f# b d# g#) it sounds much better, and more like the original.
I have a low voice so i use -2 and it sounds like the live version.
i can barely sing and strum at the same time so my strumming pattern has to be suUUPER simple otherwise my brain shuts down so i use DDU
Hi! So I’m kinda new to ukulele and I don’t know if what I did is right but I like to play along and have it sound exact and how I did that is with the app ‘guitartuna’ And you go on ukulele obviously and when tuning, make it so it’s on a ‘-3’ on all strings and it sounds exactly like the original when you play along. Also use the 0.
