remember keys
Dbm B A
You, with your words like knives and swords
- A -
And weapons that you use against me
Dbm B A
You, have knocked me off my feet again
- A -
Got me feelin' like a nothin'
Dbm B A
You, with your voice like nails on a chalk board
- A -
Callin' me out when I'm wounded
Dbm B A
You, pickin' on the weaker man

B E A B
Well you can take me down with just one single blow
    A -once
But you don't know, what you don't know...

E B A
Someday I'll be livin' in a big ol' city
    E B A
And all you're ever gonna be is mean
E B A
Someday I'll be big enough so you can't hit me
    E B A Stop
And all you're ever gonna be is mean
                   E E -once
Why you gotta be so mean?

Dbm B
You, with your swithching sides and
     A
Your wild fire lies and your humiliation
Dbm B A
You, have pointed out my flaws again
       -stop
As if I don't already see them
Dbm B
I walk with my head down
          A
Tryin' to block you out
         A
'Cause I never impress you
Dbm B A
I just wanna feel okay again

B
I bet you got pushed around
E A B
Somebody made you cold
- B -
But the cycle ends right now 'cause
A
You can't lead me down that road
                   A -stop
And you don't know what you don't know

E B A
Someday I'll be livin in a big ol' city
    E B A
And all you're ever gonna be is mean
E B A
Someday I'll be big enough so you can't hit me

 Talkin' over a football game
- B -
With that same big loud opinion
E A B
But no one's listening
- B -
Washed up and ranting about the

Same old bitter things
B E B A
Drunk and grumblin' all about how I can't sing

A E B Dbm
All you are is mean...and a liar...and pathetic
    A E B Dbm A
And alone in life and mean, and mean, and mean, and mean

And all you're ever gonna be is mean, yeah--ah

  1. -4 is great for beginners

  2. jj_playstheuke

Does anyone know a substitute chord for e? That one is difficult for me because i have small fingers

    • you can try to bar the fourth fret and and place your pinky on the seventh fret of the A string, its an alternate version of the E chord

  3. just a paki girl

-4 is incredibly easy. Dont know why that’s not the one the site suggests.

  4. what is the strum pattern

  5. this song is a good song and I love it

  6. Does anyone know the strumming pattern for the song? It never says so I am confused.

  7. Sorry, never mind.

  8. This is really short. It isn’t the whole song.

  9. LIVEfromtheTARDIS

+1 is easy and sounds great

  10. -2

  11. the lyrics are “words like swords and knifes…..” not the other way around

  12. sasquatchjam

This is great but you have to tune your ukulele perfectly or it sounds weird.
    Love it!!! :D

  13. good uku chords!!!!I like it so much!!

  14. -4 is glee version and much easier if you are playing on a banjo uke like me because on a banjo uke has bigger frets, making the e chord hard.

  15. LittleUkeGirl7

I like glee ;) ye. This song is so great it has so much meaning for me. I am so glad it isn’t too hard!

  16. If you tune it to -4, it will be the Glee Version of the song.
