  1. I use d d d du d for strumming pattern in the refrain and for the rests of the song I only use d

  2. I use dduuduudu for most of the song, then when it gets to “I’m holding on for dear life” I play ddd three times, spaced evenly and timed :)

  3. bearstronaut

OH MY GOSH YOU AREN’T SUPPOSED TO ASK FOR STRUMMING PATTERNS

  4. The A chord doesn’t sound right when transposed to +1. Any alternatives?

  5. I usually use a down strum for most of the song and dudUdu for the chorus

  6. I just strum down for the entire song

  7. Can someone please comment the strum patten please, for us new to playing the uke. Thank you!

  8. Strum pattern?

  9. -1

  10. simplyukulele

-1 is great for beginners :)

  11. The Ab doesn’t sound right… suggestions for an alternative?

    • Yeah, definitely weird. For the most part they can be replaced by Fm, not sure what to do for the Ab-Fm switch though, the latter chord should really be Fm.

  12. +1 is easier and makes for a great soft acoustic version

  13. Personally, I like Sia’s acoustic version of this song, so if you transpose -3 then it sounds just like the acoustic :)

  14. a single peeled avocado

as everyone’s resident soprano, it’s so nice to find a song that i don’t need to transpose to fit my range :) (i mean i still go -1 but that’s because i’m not one of those Insane People(TM) who insist that transposing is cheating lmao. like on half-step isn’t gonna start the apocalypse,,, chill)

  15. Cheesegirl

this is so fudging high to sing lol

  16. Thea_uke

scince I am only 12 I have the range of sia so its super awesome and perfect for my range! ALTHOUGH,,, i do like playing it on -1 cuz its easy

  17. I love playing it +4 thanks!

  18. On -1, Em sounds better than C. Love this! x

  19. Personally, I don’t have the register of Sia… so.. if you go 6plus, you are putting up 2 tones and a half, but you’e singin down so… it’s perfect :)

  20. This is great, thanks!! I transpose it down -1, so it’s in my range and it sounds really good!!!
