Intro: G D Em B7

Verse:
     Em D
As a child, you would wait
    C B7
and watch from far away.
        Em D
But you always knew that you'd be the one
             C B7
the one that work while they all play.

   Em D
In youth, you'd lay,
 C B7
awake at night and scheme
   Em D
of all the things that you would change,
    C B7
but it was just a dream.

Chorus:
Em G C B7
Here we are, don't turn away now,
Em G C B7
we are the warriors that built this town.

Em G C B7
Here we are, don't turn away now,
Em G C B7
we are the warriors that built this town
     Em
From dust

Verse:
              D
The time will come,
            C B7
when you'll have to rise
 Em D
above the best, and prove yourself,
     C B7
your spirit never dies!

   Em D
Farewell, I've gone,
   C B7
to take my throne above,
          Em D
but don't weep for me, 'cuz this will be
    C B7
the labor of my love

Chorus:
Em G C B7
Here we are, don't turn away now,
Em G C B7
we are the warriors that built this town.

Em G C B7
Here we are, don't turn away now,
Em G C B7
we are the warriors that built this town
     Em
From dust

It sounds loads better when you change the C in the verses to G :)

  2. that was legitnes! *it was wasnt it?*

  3. I found that -2 was the easiest, with vocal range and the chords being used, changing the Bb to D sounds better and is easier too!

  4. Just wondering, what’s the strumming pattern. I’m new at ukulele and have been using DDUUDU for everything.

  5. Drew (the girl)

I love to play this song I actually play it almost daily now

  6. Thanks Conner12

  7. If, as with me, the combination of Em, D, B7 sounded off, you can try substituting D for C

In the chorus, on the line “built this town,” I think the chords Em, D, and B7 on each word sounds much better than C

  12. That_One_Guy

In the chorus, on the line “built this town,” it sounds way better to have Em, D, then B7 instead of C.
