Is anyone else just hitting their uke instead of strumming, no just me
I imagine a sad, vivid story while playing this.
Once upon a time, a crew sailed on the ship Billy o’ Tea. Two weeks had barely passed when the captain called them up. “Come on,” he cried, “we’ll catch that whale in tow if it’s the last thing we do!” The whale bellowed and smacked its tail against the ship. With a shout, the crew harpooned her as she dove down into the dark, murky water, and the struggle began. For months, their line tightened and slackened at an alarming pace. One by one, all their boats slowly fell into Davy Jones’ locker except four. Even after sinking most of their ships, the whale still fought back. Legend says that the captain and his crew are still fighting the whale to this day. The Wellerman comes every few months to encourage the crew and give supplies.
Soon will the Wellerman come to bring them suger, tea, rum.
One day when the tonguing is done, they’ll take their leave and go. ..da-da, da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da da-da-da-da-da, da-da da-da-da-da da-da-da-da-da-da. -Huh!-
For anyone wondering, the Longest Johns version is -2 transposed if you wanted it
I love this song so much and it goes perfectly with ukulele 😀
An alternate version is this but with a capo or you can do what I personally like, here it is:
(With 3rd fret capo, as performed by Nathan Evans in the key of Cm)
No chords first verse
Chorus: F C Dm Am F C E7 Am
Verse: Am Am Dm Am Am Am E7 Am
You can find what I am talking about at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eMQkNNne-M
What is the strumming for this song?
the easiest is +2 and replace B with B7
Does anyone know a good strumming pattern?
+2 is WAYYYY easier
