remember keys
                  Dbm E
It's empty in the valley of your heart
                  Dbm E
The sun, it rises slowly as you walk
                  Dbm
Away from all the fears
            E B E
And all the faults you've left behind

                    Dbm E
The harvest left no food for you to eat
                  Dbm E
You cannibal, you meat-eater, you see
                    Dbm
But I have seen the same
           E B E
I know the shame in your defeat

    E A E
But I will hold on hope
    E A E
And I won't let you choke
A E B
On the noose around your neck

    Dbm A E
And I'll find strength in pain
    Dbm A E
And I will change my ways
A E B
I'll know my name as it's called again

             Dbm E
Cause I have other things to fill my time
                 Dbm E
You take what is yours and I'll take mine
                  Dbm
Now let me at the truth
           Dbm B E
Which will refresh my broken mind

               Dbm E
So tie me to a post and block my ears
          Dbm E
I can see widows and orphans through my tears
                          Dbm
I know my call despite my faults
    E B E
And despite my growing fears

    E A E
But I will hold on hope
    E A E
And I won't let you choke
A E B
On the noose around your neck

    Dbm A E
And I'll find strength in pain
    Dbm A E
And I will change my ways
A E B
I'll know my name as it's called again

                    Dbm E
So come out of your cave walking on your hands
                  Dbm E
And see the world hanging upside down
                   Dbm
You can understand dependence
         E B E
When you know the maker's hand

   E A E
So make your siren's call
    E A E
And sing all you want
  A E B
I will not hear what you have to say

      Dbm A E
Cause I need freedom now
   Dbm A E
And I need to know how
   A E B
To live my life as it's meant to be

    E A E
But I will hold on hope
    E A E
And I won't let you choke
A E B
On the noose around your neck

    Dbm A E
And I'll find strength in pain
    Dbm A E
And I will change my ways
A E B
I'll know my name as it's called again

Little riff you can try for the Intro and first Verse. Not 100% in key though:

xA|------------0-------0-------0---|
xE|5-3-------1---1---1---1---1---1-|
xC|----5-0-2-------2-------0-------| - x3 -
xG|--------------------------------|

xA|----0-------0-------1---0-------|
xE|--1---1---1---1---0-0---1-------|
xC|0-------4-------4---0---0-------|
xG|--------------------0---2-------|

I think that plus one is the easiest, especially in the beginning when you switch from Dm to F.

  2. Maddie_Fishel

I meant Dm to F, spellcheck?

  3. Maddie_Fishel

I think that plus one is the easiest, especially in the beginning when you have to switch from Dmitry to F.

  4. -4 easiest

  5. +3

You can down tune your uke a half step to F#, B, D#, G# and set it to +1 and it sounds a lot better in my opinion and more like the song. But that’s just my opinion.

  7. Freezestyle

    +1 is the original

  8. 3+ is really easy for beginners

  9. What’s a good strum pattern for this?
New to Uke, any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

  10. FINALLY A TAB THAT ACTUALLY SOUNDS GOOD!

  11. You can also do A like this:

    xA|4
    xE|5
    xC|4
    xG|6

  12. I would suggest an alternate chord pattern for the Dbm and E chord to make an easier transition.
    E like this:
    xA|7
    xE|4
    xC|4
    xG|4

    Dbm like this
    xA|4
    xE|4
    xC|4
    xG|6

  13. Love the song, great tab too :)

It is written in Key E, so to make it easier I tune down half a step and play in key F [tune down half step, and use the chords in [+1] ]
