Verse 1
Cmaj7 G
You got a fast car.
Em7 D
I want a ticket to anywhere.
Cmaj7 G
Maybe we make a deal,
Em7 D
Maybe together we can get somewhere.
Cmaj7 G
Any place is better.
Em7 D
Starting from zero, got nothing to lose.
Cmaj7 G
Maybe we'll make something,
Em7 D
Me myself, I got nothing to prove.

Interlude: Cmaj7, G, Em7, D

Verse 2 - same as first Verse -
You got a fast car
I got a plan to get us out of here:
I been working at the convenience store,
Managed to save just a little bit of money.
Wont't have to drive too far
Just 'cross the border and into the city,
You and i can both get jobs
And finally see what it means to be living.

Interlude: Cmaj7, G, Em7, D

Verse 3 - same as first Verse -
You see my old man's got a problem:
He live with the bottle, thats the way it is.
He says his body's too old for working,
His body's too young to look like his.
My mama went off and left him, she wanted more from life than he could give,
I said, "Somebody's got to take care of him."
So I quit school and that's what I did.

Interlude: Cmaj7, G, Em7, D

Verse 4 - same as first Verse -
You got a fast car
But is it fast enough so we can fly away?
We gotta make a decision:
Leave tonight or live and die this way.

Bridge: Cmaj7, G, Em7, D, Cmaj7, G

Chorus
Em D C

Tranpose is amazing! Perfect for singing, but I despise the fact it says same as the first verse like how the heck am I suppose to remember it?!?!

  3. Verse F C Am G

    chorus G F F C
    Am F
    Am G
    F am G (I ayyy had a feeling that I belong) etc
    F Am….

  4. Grace Cowie

I think the tab sounds nice if you play
    A
    E
    C 1-2-1-4-4—9-9-8-8
    G

And then the second time around play
    A
    E
    C 1-2-1-4-4—9-11-9-8-9-8
    G

    If that makes sense

  5. brooklyn_louis

    +5

  6. I play it this way

    —0——0——2–0—–0—–
    -2—2-0—–2———0——– Repeat
    -2—2-1—–1———4——–
    -2—2-2—–2———1—–1–

Sorry for the tempo, first time I write

  7. Can anybody teach me the strumming pattern? Thank you!

  8. For the main rift, i found an easier and simple way of getting the same sound for the beginning of the song. It’s all of the top string (g)
The number just means the fret.
    2-3-2-5-5-5–10-10-9-9 X2 (1)
2-3-2-5-5-5-10-12-10-9 (2) repeat after every second first rift
It should go (1) (1) (2) Repeat until you want to continue with the actual cords

  9. I played this song just repeating Am, F, C, and G

  10. Stephanie Demetreon

please put the chords throughout the entire song, not just say it repeats, thats not helpful for learning

  11. Hi um what would you guys suggest an easier version of this

  12. To start play the E string open then hammer onto the first threat.

    A—–3322—-3322—-353232
    E 0113—-0113—-0113——
    C 0——-0——-0———
    G—–0——-0——-0–0–

  13. A ——3322- ——353232-
    E 00——— 00———–
    C –0–0—-0 –0–0——0
    G —00—— —00——–

Couldnt find a tab so i made my own.

  14. Right chords are (for uke): D/A/F#m/E
and for guitar are: Cmaj7/G/E/D CapoII !!!

  15. caitlinxarris

Change Em7 for just Em and it sounds better :) to me anyway

  16. Hi, sorry but I think these chords are not correct.

  17. xA|–2-3-2—5-5–|–10-10—9-9—|–2-3-2—5-5–|10-12-10-9-10-9|
    xE|—————-|—————-|—————-|—————-|
    xC|—————-|—————-|—————-|—————-|
    xG|—————-|—————-|—————-|—————-|

Try that for the finger picking. I’m not sure if I’ve written it right, I’ve never written tabs before.

  18. The chords seem right. However the picking part doesn’t sound right to me.

I don’t want to sound ungrateful though. I really appreciate the person who put this up :)
