I highly recommend putting a capo on the fourth fret, and keeping the same chords if you have a deep voice. It just sounds muddy when I use the chords as they are, but pitching them up certainly helps there be some more clarity between chords and voice. I think it also just matches the pitch of the synth used in the song.
Btw it’s not ‘I might need you or I’ll break” it’s supposed to be “I might need room or I’ll break” quite the opposite meaning
