3 ukulele chords used in "Dog Days Are Over" by Florence + the Machine: Am, Em and G

I have loved this song since I was just a little toddler. My sister tried teaching it to me on my ukulele, but it was no use! I feel SO accomplished on FINALLY being able to play it
Count G for 5 times, Am once, and Em twice :).
I love this song so much!!! It’s almost too easy to just know when to switch chords, just with the way to flows with the lyrics! (In my own opinion of course)
Which strumming?
The Gs are super repetitive so in the verses I add in Gmaj7 and I the chorus I add in C. adds a lil more depth!
What strumming pattern is best?
Me stanning this song and this band bc it’s also Cody Fern’s favorite band anD i LOVE THAT FOR US
I have to learn this for a camp, but it is gonna be so easy! 😀
does anybody else’s Em sound really funky? maybe i just don’t know how it’s supposed to sound but it sounds grating and harsh.
i plucked the bottom two strings for all of it except the quiet part i just kinda strummed down for like the first beat for each measure
TUNE! Love this thank you :]
I think a good strumming pattern would be DDUD
I love this song for its simplicity and power. Thank you for the ukulele chords. To my ears, it’s a uke and a kalimba that F&tM use in the first section of their recorded version, starting with simple, then bringing the power…which is great arranging.
What is the strumming pattern for this?
DDUD
this song is pure happiness-
count when you play and for the G’s just pick your finger up off the uke and replace them with the beat.
If you replace the Em with F the song is way easier to play, and it can also make this song quicker too. Learning this song will be a piece of cake!
I thought it’s C instead Am. I think it sounds better.
this is perfect
