  1. hey buddy, you in cape town?

if you want to do a more slowed-down version, I usually add a c7 after the c in the chorus idk

  2. +4 is gr8 if you are a beginner

  3. IF U NEED HELP WITH THE AB CORD HERES SOME ACTUAL HELPFUL INFORMATION, press your first finger against the c e a strings (bottom three) in the 3rd fret thennnn place your second finger on the e string 4th fret and then your 3rd finger on the g string 5th fret

  4. ryan ross is my life

I would like to say for those struggling, try transposing it to +2. I think it’s a lot easier and it sounds good as well.

  5. here’s some notes that may help
    -strum patter DDUUDU
    -use Db instead of Bbm
-add a C7 chord after the c cause it sounds spicy idk
-use Cadd9 instead of Ab (idk about that one but i personally think it sounds a lot better)

  6. this is great!

  7. im broke and i want merch

if any of you are struggling with Ab you can put you hands in the G position and then put your pinkie on 1st string, 4th fret

  8. thisistherealryanross

    so fun to play

I agree that -1 is easier and gets that tricky Ab chord out of the way, but I do believe that the original sounds a lot better and is easier to hit the notes for my vocal range! Honestly, do what you think is best.

  10. I personally believe that transposing it up to +4 makes it much easier.

  11. Ukeplayingthespian

What should I do for a strum pattern?

  12. Tré cool

This song is super fun to play, I love it so much!

  13. Transpose down to -1 and then instead of just leaving it as
    B
    A casual affair

play it like this (it just sounds a bit nicer to be honest)

    B B7
    A casual affair

  14. Anyone else think the Ab sounds wrong?

    • I think it sounds right

@brendone Make sure that your pointer finger (which should be barring three notes) is on the third fret. I used to make that mistake too, which is that you’re probably playing it one fret higher than you should. To make the tab easier to read they just put a three next to the second fret to show that the finger that would be on the second fret if you’re playing it like the tab shows should be on the third fret. Just move everything else down along with your barring finger.

  15. Playing it +4 and changing the E to E7 makes it a lot easier for beginners :)

  16. musiclover12001

adding a g right after the b makes it better for closing the chorus

  17. Twentyonepilots

    -1

  18. SetsuPlatinum

I agree with pangurban, -1 is easier. Also, I feel like the immediate chord change from the Em to the B is weird on the second “atmosphere, a casual affair” I would suggest adding a G in the middle for a smoother transition. (only for -1 though)

  19. pangurban

It’s a lot easier if you transpose it -1 (avoid that tricky Ab chord).

    • Megalodonn

I think that it is easier when you transpose it, however although the original key is harder to play it is worth it for how awesome it sounds.
