Intro: Dbm Dbm A Gbm

Verse:
Dbm E
Darling, darling, doesn’t have a problem.
A Gbm
Lying to herself ’cause her liquor’s top shelf.
      Dbm E
It’s alarming, honestly, how charming she can be.
A Gbm
Fooling everyone telling how she’s having fun.

Dbm
She says, “You don’t want to be like me.
E
Don’t want to see all the things I’ve seen.”
    A Gbm
I’m dying, I’m dying.
Dbm
She says, “You don’t want to get this way,
E
Famous and dumb at an early age.”
A Gbm
Lying, I’m lying.

Chorus:
      Dbm
The boys, the girls, they all like Carmen.
      A Gbm Abm
She gives them butterflies, bats her cartoon eyes.
      Dbm
She laughs like God, her mind’s like a diamond.
  A Gbm Abm
  Audiotune lies. She’s still shining
A Gbm A Gbm Gbm7 Gbm
  Like lightning, ooh-ooh, white lightning.

Verse -same as first-:
Carmen, Carmen, staying up till morning.
Only seventeen, but she walks the streets so mean.
It’s alarming, truly, how disarming you can be.
Eating soft ice cream, Coney Island queen.

She says, “You don’t want to be like me,
Looking for fun, getting high for free.”
I’m dying, I’m dying.
She says, “You don’t want to get this way,
Street walk at night and a star by day.”
It’s tiring, tiring.

Chorus:
      Dbm
The boys, the girls, they all like Carmen.
      A Gbm Abm
She gives them butterflies, bats her cartoon eyes.
      Dbm
She laughs like God, her mind’s like a diamond.
  A Gbm Abm
  Audiotune lies. She’s still shining
A Gbm A Gbm Gbm7 Gbm
  Like lightning, ooh-ooh, white lightning.

Bridge:
   B Dbm
Baby’s all dressed up with nowhere to go.
   Abm A
That’s the little story of the girl you know.
     B Dbm
Relying on the kindness of strangers,
   A
Tying cherry knots, smiling, doing party favours.
Gbm A
Put your red dress on, put your lipstick on.

Sing your song, song, now the camera’s on.
Gbm
   And you’re alive again…

Dbm Dbm7
Mon amour, je sais que tu m'aimes aussi,
   A
   Tu as besoin de moi,
Gbm Abm Dbm
Tu as besoin de mon dans ta vie.
                                Dbm7
Tu ne peux plus vivre sans moi
      A
   Et je mourrais sans toi.
      Gbm Abm
   Je tuerais pour toi.

Chorus:
      Dbm
The boys, the girls, they all like Carmen.
      A Gbm Abm
She gives them butterflies, bats her cartoon eyes.
      Dbm
She laughs like God, her mind’s like a diamond.
  A Gbm Abm
  Audiotune lies. She’s still shining
A Gbm A Gbm Gbm7 Gbm
  Like lightning, ooh-ooh, white lightning.
A Gbm A Gbm Gbm7 Gbm

you can barre the g, c and e strings with your thumb on the 4th fret and put your index finger to A string 2nd fret, or just play e7 chord

Thanks for the tip Alexiaafiggy, it works great for me too when I transpose up +1. Thank you Jason for sharing! Your transposition tool is AMAZING :)

I definitely think it sounds way better transposed up +1!! I’m a soprano and I find it goes better with my tone.
