C Em Am G - x2 -

C Em
I hope this old train breaks down
Am G
Then I could take a walk around
C Em
And, see what there is to see
Am G
And time is just a melody

               C
With all the people in the street
         Em
Walk as fast as their feet can take them
Am G
I just roll through town

               C
And though my window's got a view, well
      Em
The frame Im looking through
         Am G
Seems to have no concern for now, so for now

Chorus:

C C/B
I need this
Am G
Old train to breakdown
C C/B
Oh please just
Am G
Let me please breakdown

C Em Am G - x2 -

C Em
This engine screams out loud
Am G
Centipede gonna crawl westbound
C Em
So I don't even make a sound
Am G
It's gunna sting me when I leave this town
         C
All the people in the street
           Em
That I'll never get to meet
          Am G
If these tracks don't bend somehow
    C
And I got no time
     Em
That I got to get to
 Am G
Where I don't need to be, so I

Chorus

C
G F C
I wanna break on down
But I cant stop now
Let me break on down

G F

         C
But you cant stop nothing
       Em
If you got no control
         Am
Of the thoughts in your mind
          G
That you kept in, you know
     C
You don't know nothing
        Em
But you don't need to know
     Am
The wisdoms in the trees
          G
Not the glass windows

     C
You cant stop wishing
        Em
If you don't let go
     Am
But things that you find
         G
And you lose, and you know
     C
You keep on rolling
        Em
Put the moment on hold
      Am
The frames too bright
             G
So put the blinds down low

Chorus

C Em Am G
                I wanna break on down
C Em Am G
                But I cant stop now
C Em Am G
C Em Am G

  1. I think it is a walk down out of the C chord so stay holding the C ………on the G sting walk down from from the B note into the Am…..

  2. Strumming pattern anyone?

  3. Personally I think that the c/b part is out of scale and I’m only eleven but I think g sounds better or Em but preferably g.

  4. The C/B does not sound great to me. Because B is out of the scale. I think the chord is Am9.

  5. I think the intro bit sounds fine however you play it, the outro is like this:

    xA|———3^5——3——————7————5—3———————3^5——3——————7————5—————
    xE|———3^5——3——3———8————7—5———————3^5——3——3———8————7—————
    xC|———————————4——————————————————————————4——————————————
    xG|—————————————————————————————————————————————————————

    xA|———3^5——3——————10————8——7—————3^5——3——————7———5———3——
    xE|———3^5——3——3———12————10—8—————3^5——3——3————8———7———0—
    xC|———————————4——————————————————————————4——————————————
    xG|—————————————————————————————————————————————————————

  6. ahhh it got all messed up but basically you play the strings in this order: C-E-C A E-C and switch between chords

  7. xA|———3——————2——————0——————2——
    xE|—0——0———3——3———0——0———3——3—
    xC|0—0——0—4—4——4—0—0——0—2—2——2
    xG|———————————————————————————
    sounds better to me

  8. I’ve found that this version of picking matches JJ’s style the most for the four intro chords:

    C, Em, F, G:

    — — — X — — — — — — —
    — X — — X — — — — — —
    X — — — — X — — — — —
    — — X — — — — — — — —

    C
    ——————3——————
    ———0————0—————
    —0————————0———
    —————0————————

    Em
    ————1——————
    ——2——— 2————
    —3————— 3———-
    ———0 ———————

    Am
    ———— 0——————
    ——0——— 0————
    —0————— 0———-
    ———1 ———————

    G
    ————3——————
    ——2——— 2————
    —3————— 3———-
    ———0 ———————

Now to work on the outro ;)

  9. (without the last note actually on my picking)

  10. I find it easier and think it sounds better to play the c/b in the chorus as an em chord.

  11. xA|—–3-3—|
    xE|—0—–0-|
    xC|-0–0—-0-|
    xG|———–|

I think the picking’s more like that for al the different chords :)
