   Am C D

Verse:
                 Am C D F
I wanna see your animal side let it all out
                 Am C
I wanna see the dirt under your skin
              D F
I need your broken promises, yeah
Am C D F
I want the guts and glory, baby, baby
Am C D
This town is wasted and alone

Chorus:
            Am G
But we are alive here in death valley
     Em F
But don't take love off the table yet
          Am G Em F
'Cause tonight it's just fire alarms and losing you
Am G Em F
We love a lot so we only lose a little
            Am G Em
But we are alive -we are alive- we are alive

Interlude: Am C D F

Verse:
                 Am C D F
I wanna see your animal side let it all out
             Am C
Oh there you go; undress to impress
                   D F
You can wear the crown but you're no princess
Am C D F
So put the 'D' in 'dirt' now, baby, baby
Am C D
Let's get you wasted and alone

Chorus:
            Am G
But we are alive here in death valley
     Em F
But don't take love off the table yet
          Am G Em F
'Cause tonight it's just fire alarms and losing you
Am G Em F
We love a lot so we only lose a little
            Am G Em
But we are alive -we are alive- we are alive

Bridge:
F G Em
We're gonna die, it's just a matter of time
               F
Hard times come good times go
               G Em F
I'm either gone in an instant or here 'til the bitter end I, I never know
                    G Em F
What I've got will make you feel more alive
                        G Em
I'll be your favorite drug, I will get you high, I will get you high

            Am G
But we are alive here in death valley

            Am C D
But we are alive -we are alive- we are alive

  1. -1 is the original chord progression

  2. +7 worked really well for me and I thought it sounded pretty decent!

  3. Kobra Kid

This sounds so pretty and calming on ukulele, but the actual recording of Death Valley is completely different…

  4. i do the strumming with chucking so i do DCUUCUUCUUC or 1 (+) 2 + 3 + 4 +

  5. what is the strumming pattern???

  6. has anyone figured out a good strumming pattern?

  7. For those interested, the original key of the song is actually the half step below this. Great tab though!

  8. No, it´s actually ´´Alive, here in death valley´´ :)

  9. PatrickStumpIsMyFather

I thought it was we are alone here in Death Valley

  10. Jesse Norwood

I played the last chorus twice and added the interlude to the end 4 times and slowed it down at the end. It sounded pretty okay.

  11. PeteTheBassist

It sounds better if you play the second interlude (before the last chorus) three times instead of two.
