I don’t think this sounds to great on uke, or it’s just the chords :/ it just doesn’t sound right, which is a shame because this is my favourite song.

  • EmJayJacko says:

LeRoseUke, it sounds a lot better once you establish a finger picking pattern (which I would highly recommend over strumming).

  • Canders says:

Emjayjacko what is your finger picking pattern?

  • Svetlana says:

You may add Fm before D, and play them twice shorter than you play D.

  • crumblingkastle says:

I have love this version. I think it sounds best in +5. It might not sound exactly like the original, but it is fun to make the song your own a bit.

  • newuke says:

for me its easier and also more sing-able at +3 ! :)

  • Mr.Sam says:

-2 is much easier and sounds really good. I play without a capo, and it works really well

  • Izzie says:

    DENNNNY :'(

  • Scletus says:

What is the best finger picking pattern for this song?

  • chica says:

instead of a e i used a c chord and it sounded alright

  • Helenab says:

it sounds a lot better picking!
    I do (for C) 2nd string, 4th string, 3rd string, 4th string repeat! sounds great :)

  • khalida47 says:

sounds good on +3 and if you pick the 1st and 4th strings repeatedly on C and G. On F, pick the 3rd and 4th. (there’s really no point actually playing the entire chords on the fret board you can just use one finger on the actual strings your picking)

  • rosemarystuart says:

if you play on -2 and but the capo on fret 2 you can play in key and it’s easier

  • TheWhiteKnight says:

I think it sounds amazing on -2. For each chord, (G,D, and C) Finger pick on the E and A strings. As you get farther along, I will sometimes switch to pick the G and A strings. It adds a deeper tone to the song.

  • ollierocks1324 says:

I think that it is “those three words, are said too much, they’re not enough”

  • Lucca Ballara says:

I think it’s amazing but I would use 2nd finger on 2nd string 2nd fret, plucking 4X then put fist finger on the same string take off 2nd finger and put 1st finger 1 fret higher 4X, then leave 1st finger down and now play 1st string no fingers 4X and 1st string but on the 2nd string leave 1st finger on 2nd string, then repeat.

Do not ask for strumming patterns. Sharing online how to literally play a song (i.e. strumming patterns, rhythm and tempo) is not allowed by the MPA (Music Publishers Association) because of copyright issues.

Carefully listen to the song and "feel" the rhythm. Once you get the basics of strumming, it'll go real quick. Maybe the strumming guide can help you.
