7 ukulele chords used in "When She Loved Me" by Sarah McLachlan: A, Am, B, Dbm, E, Em and Abm

this song always makes me cry i love it
sobbing currently cause my boyfriend just broke up with me and this song really is hitting me in my feels.
-4 with a capo on the 4th fret sounds lovely, and is definitely good for softer voices! and for strumming pattern i just do a single down strum
i hate how this song makes me cry and remember one of my exes, she was so wonderful and she took care of me the way i’ve always wanted someone to take care of me
she loved me regardless of what i did or who i was
this song somewhat reminds me of her and i :(((
i was friends with a girl for 9 years, we liked almost all the same things and were best friends. she never really made her own friends but I was always there for her. two years ago we both made different friends and started to grow apart little by little. we’d still see each other and talk every day but we didn’t share many interests and i’d sometimes mock her for certain things she liked. a few months ago she hadn’t been to school for a few days so i texted her to see what happened and she had apparently started to be homeschooled. since then she started texting me less and less with much shorter replies. these few short replies turned into her not texting or talking to me at all and eventually she unfollowed and blocked me just about everywhere. it took me a bit to realize that i was one of the reasons she was homeschooled, i didn’t act like the friend that she knew for so long, i had changed into someone who didn’t care what she had to say. this song makes me think about her and i can never listen to it without sobbing and wishing that i could go back.
+1 sounds really nice
At the end I think it’s better if it was
F C F at when she loved me
this song always makes me cry
+1 sounds a bit better in my opinion. Try it! it sounds closer to the original song.
4 down is easier
For all of y’all who’ve been through breaks up…. Give yourself lots of love and if not I’mma give you guys love!! I really hope you guys get your one and only and for those who already I wish you all the happiness, love, and a shiz ton of affection for both of y’all
-4 and capo on the 3rd fret is perfect for a soft voice ^^
Dang it… I’m crying again. There’s not a time I will listen to this song and NOT cry. It just touches my heart and reminds me of times that I miss with people I will likely never spend time with again.
four down is easiest. Dm7 would be good to add in a few places, i think it sounds kinda cool if you add it between the G and C on the word “loved” in the line “when she loved me” and also in the very last line before the G and C on the word When
C Am
When somebody loved me
F G
everything was beautiful
Em Am
every hour we spent together
F G
lives within my heart
C Am
And when she was sad
F G
I was there to dry her tears
Em Am F
and when she was happy so was I
G Dm7 C
when she loved me
F G
Through the summer and the fall
Em Am
we had each other that was all
Em Am
just she and I together
F G
like it was meant to be
C Am
and when she was lonely
F G
I was there to comfort her
Em Am G C
and I knew that she loved me
Am G
So the years went by
Em Am
I stayed the same
Em Am
but she began to drift away
G Am
I was left alone
Fm Cm
still I waited for the day
when she’d say
Fm Cm G
I will always love you
C Am
Lonely and forgotten
F G
never thought she’d look my way
Em Am
and she smiled at me and held me
F G
just like she used to do
C Am
like she loved me
F G
when she loved me
C Am
When somebody loved me
F G
everything was beautiful
Em Am
every hour we spent together
F G
lives within my heart
Dm7 G C
when she loved me
I find that if you use +1 it’s best, and also is the exact same chords I found in a tutorial as well!
This song is best if you play it on +1
I’m new to ukulele so if anybody could help me with replacing “E” I would appreciate it! 🙂
Does anyone have a recommendation for lower voices? I’m an alto and I’m struggling lol
this song is just beautiful. period… i sang this in front of my mama and her jaw dropped and said “you sound beautiful, you need to sing this at the talent show!” and everytiime i play this song i always think of that moment and it makes me so happy.
+1 is really good and sounds amazing, plus its really easy so highly recommend lol
Is there any other chord I can use instead of Abm
