Intro:
    C Em
    Em C

Verse:
Em
I wake up fine and dandy but then by the time I find it handy,
To rip my heart apart and start planning my crash landing,
C
I go up, up, up, up, up to the ceiling,
Then I feel my soul start leaving, like an old man's hair receding,
Em
I'm pleading please, oh please on my knees repeatedly asking,
Why it's got to be like this, is this living free,
C
I don't want to be the one, be the one who has the son's blood on my hands,
I'll tell the moon, take this weapon forged in darkness,
Some see a pen, I see a harpoon.

Pre-Chorus: -xEm-x G

G Bm Em Am D G Bm Em Am D
I'll stay awake, 'cause the dark's not taking prisoners tonight.
G
Why am I not scared in the morning,
             Bm Em
I don't hear those voices calling,
                         Am
I must have kicked them out,
  D
I must have kicked them out,
G
I swear I heard demons yelling,
             Bm Em
Those crazy words they were spelling,
                    Am
They told me I was gone,
  D G
They told me I was gone.

Chorus:
G
But I'll tell them,
G C G
Why won't you let me go?
D G C
Do I threaten all your plans?
    Bm D
I'm insignificant.
                  G C G
Please tell them you have no plans for me.
  D G C Bm D
I will set my soul on fire, what have I become?
               Em
I'll tell them!

Interlude: Em C

Verse:
Em
On the eve of a day that's forgotten and fake,
As the trees they await and clouds anticipate,
The start of a day when we put on our face,
a mask that portrays that we don't need grace,
C
On the eve of a day that is bigger than us,
But we open our eyes 'cause we're told that we must,
And the trees wave their arms and the clouds try to plead,
Desperately yelling there's something we need,
Em
I'm not free, I asked forgiveness three times,
Same amount that I denied, I three-time mvp'ed this crime,
C
I'm afraid to tell you who I adore, won't tell you what I'm singing towards,
                                                           Em
Metaphorically I'm a whore, and that's denial number four.

Pre-Chorus: G

G Bm Em Am D G Bm Em Am D
I'll stay awake, 'cause the dark's not taking prisoners tonight.
G
Why am I not scared in the morning,
             Bm Em
I don't hear those voices calling,
                         Am
I must have kicked them out,
 D
I must have kicked them out,
G
I swear I heard demons yelling,
             Bm Em
Those crazy words they were spelling,
                    Am
They told me I was gone,
D G
They told me I was gone.

Chorus:
G
But I'll tell them,
G C G
Why won't you let me go?
D G C
Do I threaten all your plans?
    Bm D
I'm insignificant.
                  G C G
Please tell them you have no plans for me.
  D G C Bm D
I will set my soul on fire, what have I become?
                  G C G
Please tell them you have no plans for me.
  D G C Bm D
I will set my soul on fire, what have I become?

Okay guys! So the first part makes no sense on this, so I’d thought I’d help out since I was confused, too. For the opening I would recommend playing this tablature twice:

A———0——0—————0——
E——0——0——0——0———-
C—1———————2—————
Also there doesn’t need to be any thing with the g-string, hopefully you know how to read tabletures 🙂 Another reminder is that if you need help with the timing of this, listen to the beginning on YouTube, and that is the pattern you would want to do!

Who said that every wish
Would be heard and answered
When wished on the morning star
Somebody thought of that
And someone believed it
And look what it’s done so far
What’s so amazing
That keeps us star gazing
What so we think we might see

This is all wrong! You are missing like half of the song! PLUS… the intro makes no sense at all.

“Ooooohh and that I think it could be” I believe the correct lyric is “IT’S SOMETHING THAT I’M SUPPOSE TO BE”

Endormi3

On the last line of the first verse (on 0) it’s Dbm7 and Gbmaj (F#maj) instead of A and Gbm 🙂
