Intro: Gb Bbm Db Gb Bbm Db Gb Ebm Db

Verse:
    Db Db
Her eyes and words are so icy
           Bbm
Oh but she burns
     Gb Db
Like rum on the fire
Db Db
Hot and fast and angry
   Db
As she can be
Bbm Gb Db
I walk my days on a wire.

Pre-Chorus:
Gb Bbm Gb Bbm
It looks ugly, but it's clean,
Gb Bbm Ebm Db
Oh momma, don't fuss over me.

Chorus:
            Gb Bbm Db
The way she tells me I'm hers and she is mine
     Gb Bbm Db
Open hand or closed fist would be fine
    Gb Ebm Db
The blood is rare and sweet as cherry wine.

Verse:
Db Db
Calls of guilty fall on me
Db Bbm
All while she stains
    Gb Db
The sheets of some other
Db Db
Thrown at me so powerfully
Db Bbm Gb Db
Just like she throws with the arm of her brother.

Pre-Chorus:
Gb Bbm Gb Bbm
  But I want it, it's a crime
Gb Bbm Ebm Db
That she's not around most of the time.

Chorus:
            Gb Bbm Db
The way she shows me I'm hers and she is mine
     Gb Bbm Db
Open hand or closed fist would be fine
Gb Ebm Db
Blood is rare and sweet as cherry wine.

Verse:
    Db Db
Her fight and fury is fiery
Db Bbm
Oh but she loves
     Gb Db
Like sleep to the freezing
Db Db
Sweet and right and merciful
Db Bbm
I'm all but washed
       Gb Db
In the tide of her breathing.

Pre-Chorus:
Gb Bbm Gb Bbm
And it's worth it, it's divine
Gb Bbm Ebm Db
And I have this some of the time.

Chorus:
            Gb Bbm Db
The way she shows me I'm hers and she is mine
     Gb Bbm Db
Open hand or closed fist would be fine
    Gb Ebm Db
The blood is rare and sweet as cherry wine.

BOI IT SOUNDS SO GOOD TRANSPOSED TO -3 AAAA

CorkyBRoll

Is there a tab for the picking?

Khadija Islam

I transpose it to -1.
Use d-d-d for verse, only down strum for pre chorus and d-d-u-u for chorus. I like the sound of it, let me know if it helps.

mochibearrr

im doing this song for an audition so wish me luck!!

I find that a DDUDU strumming pattern works really well for me!

Anna

Using -1 and putting a capo on the 1st fret works the best for me. For the fingerpicking, I like to pinch the G and the A strings simultaneously and then pluck C and then E. I guess it would look like this:
A:|3| | |
E:| | | 0
C:| | 0 |
G:|0| |
I really only use it for the long stretches of C chord, and for the chorus and pre-chorus I just use downstrums.

ukurore

I like to transpose it to +1 :)

I use a DdUu (the uppercase means more emphasis) strumming pattern as the base for playing this song, but I don’t follow it rigidly. You’ll have to feel out the rhythm for yourself to figure out when to switch it up.

Lol

-1 capo on first fret
