Helpful tips for making this song sound 10x better:
1: Try to use a capo on the second fret and try to sing higher.
2: In the chorus, instead of a Bb, sure a G in it’s place.
3: At the “ah ah,” instead of using two F’s use Dm, F.
This was the first song I learned to play on ukulele, followed by twenty one pilot’s House of Gold. Both of these songs are on a beginner level. Hope my tips help you!

Eline

You can also transpose the chords +2 if you don’t have a capo :)

zukk

this is really helpful for me as a total noob and big alt-j fan

I used just a single stroke for the first verse, the first bridge (except for the the “my lovely” part) and for the the last verse. For the rest of it I used an dududu pattern. And on the “la la la la” I do dddd while still holding the Dm.

Kaito

And for the 5th verse, I forgot to mention that.

im so clueless pls help me lmao

I’m such a noob at ukulele playing can someone please explain how to follow these directions? I’m so confused omg does anyone know the strum pattern or SOMETHING … lol I need to learn how to read music

Where it displays the chord formation: you want to have your fingers where the dots would be on your uke. at the top of the box with the chord formation it will show the chord name for example (Em). So when your following the lyrics the chord symbols will be right above the words telling you that’s where to switch to that chord. And the boxes with the chord formations will follow you down the page as you scroll the lyrics so if the can’t remember which chord is (Bb) it will be at the top of your screen.

hey :)
it’s really easy! basically, you have all the chords at the top, so you’ll be able to learn them for the song. after that, you can see that the chords are placed over the lyrics so you know when you have to change them.

ex:
f(play f until you hit a) a dm
she may contain the urge to run away but hold her down…

now, for the strumming pattern, most songs go down-down-up-up-down-up.
i hope i’m clear but if you need help dm on instagram @oh.hey.ari :)

Neve

Chloe

Neve

whats the strum pattern?

For the chorus I think it’s really fun to strum each chord as a 123 123 12 style but in double-time (all down strokes). It’s a little difficult to get the transition between the first verse and the start of the chorus but I think it sounds cool and makes the chorus more energetic :^)

biggae

+2 is really easy and sounds nice
