Intro: Eb Bb7 Ab Eb Bb7 Eb

Verse:
Eb Bb7
a long long time ago, there was a volcano.
Ab Eb Bb7
Living all alone, in the middle of the sea.
Eb Bb7
He sat high above his bay, watching all the couples play,
Ab Eb Bb7
and wishing that, he had someone too.
Eb Bb7 Ab
And from his lava came, this song of hope that he sang out-loud everyday,
Eb Bb7
for years and years.

Chorus:
Ab Eb
I have a dream, I hope will come true,
     Bb7 Eb
that you're here with me and I’m here with you
Ab Eb
I wish that the earth, sea, the sky up above
     Ab Bb7 Eb
will send me someone to la-va

Verse:
Eb Bb7
He was singing all alone, turned his lava into stone,
Ab Eb Bb7
until he was on the brink of extinction.
Eb Bb7
But little did he know that living in the sea below
Ab Eb Bb7
another volcano was listening to his song.

Verse:
Eb Bb7
Every day she heard his tune, her lava grew and grew
Ab Eb Bb7
because she believed his song was meant for her.
Eb Bb7
Now she was so ready to meet him above the sea
Ab Eb Bb7
as he sang his song of hope for the last time.

Chorus:
Ab Eb
I have a dream, I hope will come true,
     Bb7 Eb
that you're here with me and I’m here with you
Ab Eb
I wish that the earth, sea, the sky up above
     Ab Bb7 Eb
will send me someone to la-va

Verse:
Eb Bb7
Rising from the sea below stood a lovely volcano
Ab Eb Bb7
looking all around but she could not see him.
Eb Bb7
He tried to sing to let her know that she was not alone,
    Ab Bb7 Eb
but with no lava his song was all done.

Verse:
Eb Bb7
He filled the sea with his tears watching his dreams disappear
Ab Eb Bb7
as she remembered what his song meant to her.
Eb Bb7
And oh they were so happy to finally meet above the sea
    Ab Bb7 Eb
and all together now their lava grew and grew.

Verse:
Eb Bb7
No longer were they alone with Hawaii as their new home
    Ab Eb Bb7
and when you visit them, this is what they sing

Chorus:
Ab Eb
I have a dream, I hope will come true,
     Bb7 Eb
that you're here with me and I’m here with you
Ab Eb
I wish that the earth, sea, the sky up above
     Ab Bb7 Eb
will send me someone to la-va

  1. Does anyone know if you can replace the G7 with a G major?

  2. Good song, but the lyrics are wrong throughout pretty much the whole song.

    • they aren’t wrong. i looked up the song lyrics and they match perfectly.

      • Except for the end chorus and it’s missing a normal chorus

      • naahh, its not, there are missing chords and lyrics even a verse is missing so stop lying to yourself and do your research properly

      • You’d have found a less perfect match if you’d listened to the song instead of looking up the lyrics.

      • Burnt chicken nuggets

They changed the end tho so it wasn’t copywriter in the actual Disney film it is
I have a dream I hope it will come true
That you will grow old with me, and I will grow old with you
We thank the earth, sea, and the sky we thank too
        I lava you
        I lava you
        I lava you

      • they are wrong. like a lot. I had to look up the lyrics online and memorize the chords so I could play it

    • Yeah, you’re right. I just kinda improvised when I sang this w/o the Ukelele.

      • Tristanio Coppola

The lyrics are not quite right. In the original, the last chorus changes to “I have a dream, I hope will come true. That you’ll grow old with me, and I’ll grow old with you. We thank the earth, sea, the sky we thank too. I lava you, I lava you, I lava you.” The chords for the last three lines are: F, G, C, F, G, C, F G7 C.

    • i had to watch the vid to find out the actual lyrics

  3. Hey does anybody know why it won’t let me add songs to my favorites list? I registered just like they said, but every time I click add to favorites it takes me to the list and TELLS ME TO ADD SONGS TO MY FAVORITES LIST!!!! No matter what I do it always does this! Is anyone else having the same problem? Can you tell me how to fix this?????

  4. Cute song, although, the lyrics are messed up at the end.

  5. Ellielovesuke

    What is the strumming pattern?/:

  6. bookworm116

On the chorus, the last F seems a little wrong. I add a C with the F and it sounds correct. I don’t know if this is an actual chord or not.

  7. Great song easy chords but I can any one help me with tips on how to switch from C to G

    • use your third finger for C and then when you need to switch to G7 slide it up and position your fingers where you normally would

    • When you have your third finger on C, place your second finger where it goes in preparation for G so you remove the third finger you just place it along with your first finger where it needs to go for G. I hope this is helpful!

    • Juanigonzalezc

Since it’s G7, I use my pinky for C, and kind of have the shape of G7 (212-) ready for the switch.

    • Use your middle finger to play c and then move that finger up one fret and then play how ever

    • practice over and over between those two chords… you’ll get it I promise.

  8. I love this song but……
1: the lyrics are messed up and……
2: It does not have ukulele chords at the end of the song where it is meant to say
I lava you, I lava you, I lava you
but I think that was because the lyrics were messed up.

  9. Ukulele lover
