6 ukulele chords used in "The Hanging Tree" by James Newton Howard: Am, Dm, Em, E7, F and G

Suzanne Collins: “Guess what guys I’m coming out with a Hunger Games prequel!
Me: OMG I hope it’s about Haymitch, or Mags, or Beetee, or Wiress!
Suzanne Collins: “It’s about President Snow!”
Me: “I would literally rather read a prequel about anyone else, I would rather read a prequel about that turkey Gale shot a few years ago.”
Suzanne Collins: “And one last thing, President Snow is going to be good!”
Me: Goodbye, I’m going to go read Harry Potter to purify myself.
I use DD for one chord, U for the other, and back to DD. This is a more dramatic sound.
Well this song has been stuck in my head for about…hm…maybe 30 hours?
I LOVE THIS SONG SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!
So for the first “verse” try seeing how you like doing one D strum cause to me it sounds pretty nice! Then get into it at the 2nd verse! 🙂
i just went down the whole time and it sounded goof when i said are you i added a quiet echo repeating it which sounded good
amazinggggg no words if you add in a couple of double strums down at strange things did happen here it sounds so coollllll.
dduud ;(
If anyone needs a strumming pattern, I used one down strum for the start of each verse. After that I used the island strum(DDUUDU) for the rest of the song! Hope this helps!
it sounds super spooky if you do one down strum for each chord and then a slow down strum for the last one
Its easiest if you’ve heard the song.
For some reason I remember the ending lyrics differently? Anyone else remember
“are you are you
coming to the tree
wear your necklace of rope
oh come with me”
Shoot. I mean DUXU (downUPchuckUP)
For the strumming pattern I used D-XU (down-chuckup)
D, UDU
Anybody know a good strumming pattern?
