Verse 1:
 D A G Bm D A G Bm
You look like Clara Bow in this light, remarkable

All your life, did you know you'd be picked like a rose?

Pre-Chorus:
G A
I'm not trying to exaggerate but
                 D
I think I might die, if it happened
                        G
Die, if it happened to me
              A
No one in my small town
                     D
Thought I'd see the lights of Manhattan

Chorus:
     D G
This town is fake but you're the real thing
 D A
Breath of fresh air through smoke rings
 D G
 Take the glory, give everything
 D A
 Promise to be dazzling

Verse 2:
 D A G Bm D A G Bm
You look like Stevie Nicks in seventy-five, the hair and lips
 D A G Bm
Crowd goes wild at her fingertips
 D A G Bm
Half moon shine a full eclipse

Pre-Chorus:
G A
I'm not trying to exaggerate but I think I might
                 D
I think I might die if I made it, die if I made it
G A
No one in my small town
                        D
Thought I'd meet these suits in la, they all wanna say

Chorus:
      D G
This town is fake but you're the real thing
 D A
Breath of fresh air through smoke rings
 D G
 Take the glory, give everything
 D A
 Promise to be dazzling
     D G
The crown is stained, but you're the real queen
 D A
Flesh and blood amongst war machines
 D G
You're the new god we're worshiping
 D A
 Promise to be dazzling

 D A G Bm
Only when your girlish glow flickers just so do they let you know
      D A G Bm D A G Bm
It's hell on earth to be heavenly
 D A G Bm D A G Bm
Them's the breaks they don't come gently

Not to be rude or anything, but in the first chorus it’s “the finest words” and in the other two it’s “the nicest words”. Also, the last lines should be, “Honey cant you see, I was born to be, be your dead sea.” Thanks for the amazing chords!

Kate

Strumming pattern?

wesley

For baritone, transpose +5

Lord Thactama

The second C in the verse should be an E7. Other than that, perfect!

AndyGonz

Love it.

a single peeled avocado

lord thactama (what a heck of a name!), although it should be an e7, fm sounds fine as well and is easier to play (imho) 🙂

UkeJamSesh

It was all great! But instead of at the end saying “Don’t need to move your feet so quickly” it should be “Honey can’t you see, I was born to be, be your dead sea.”

AmIEverInTheRightKey?

I think it’s just me but F doesn’t sound right in the chorus, anyone got a suggestion for a swap?
