How to read tablature?
Chorus:
Cadd9 Dsus4 Em G
Don’t try to make yourself remember, darling
Cadd9 Dsus4 G D Em Dsus4
Don’t look for me, I’m just a story you’ve been told
Cadd9 Dsus4 G Em
So let’s pretend a little longer
                  A7sus4
Cause when we’re gone,
              Cadd9 D
Everything goes on

Verse 1:
Cadd9 Em
Well, you were staring at the window
Cadd9 Dsus4 G Em
And I said, “I’ll just bring the sea to you”

But if I was gone tomorrow, Won’t the waves crash on?

xA|-----------------------2--------5-----0--------5--------0--2-----5-----|
xE|--------2-----0--------------------------3-----------------------------|
xC|-----0--------------0-----2--------------------------------------------|
xG|-----------0-----------------0--------------5-----5-----------0--------|

Is it selfish that I’m happy, As we pass the setting sun?

xA|-----------------------2--------5-----0--------5--------0-----------5--|
xE|--------2-----0--------------------------3--------------------2--------|
xC|-----0--------------0-----2--------------------------------2-----------|
xG|-----------0-----------------0--------------5-----5--------------0-----|

Someday I’ll be overcast, But you won’t have to cry -

xA|-----------------------2--------5-----0--------5--------0--------5-----|
xE|--------2-----0--------------------------3-----------------------------|
xC|-----0--------------0-----2--------------------------------2-----------|
xG|-----------0-----------------0--------------5-----5-----------2-----2--|

Cause we’ll do the grieving While I’m by your side I said:

xA|-----------------------2--------5-----------6-----------x--x--x--x-----|
xE|--------2-----0-----------------------------------------x--x--x--x-----|
xC|-----0--------------0-----2-----------3-----------3-----x--x--x--x-----|
xG|-----------0-----------------0-----------5--------------x--x--x--x-----|

Chorus:
Cadd9 Dsus4 G Em
Don’t try to make yourself remember, darling
Cadd9 Dsus4 G D Em Dsus4
Don’t look for me, I’m just a story you’ve been told
Cadd9 Dsus4 G Em
So let’s pretend a little longer
                  A7sus4
Cause when we’re gone,
              Cadd9
Everything goes on

Verse 2:
Cadd9 Em7
And I’m so scared of getting used to this
Cadd9 Em7
All the vines that keep you tethered in your room
Cadd9 Dsus4
Said, "I’m sorry that you worried"
           Em
But don’t apologize
Cadd9 Dsus4
I told you to forget me
     G D Em
But you stayed by my side
     Dsus4
When I said:

Chorus:
Cadd9 Dsus4 G Em
"Don’t try to make yourself remember, darling
Cadd9 Dsus4 G D Em Dsus4
Don’t look for me, I’m just a story you’ve been told"
Cadd9 Ebmaj7 G Em
So let’s pretend a little longer
                  A7sus4
And when we’re gone,
              Cadd9
Everything goes on
