Biography

Young the Giant are an American alternative rock band who formed in Irvine, California in 2004. The band consists of Sameer Gadhia (vocals, percussion), Jacob Tilley (guitar), Eric Cannata (guitar), Payam Doostzadeh (bass) and François Comtois (drums). The band’s name is purposefully nonsensical; Gadhia explained it as a “leftfield idea” meant to evoke curiosity.

The band released their debut self-titled album, Young the Giant, on 25 January 2011, which was preceded by a digital-only release in October 2010.
