     Am

My teeth will only cut your lips, my dear

But I am not a vessel for your good intent

Chorus:
       F G C Am
I will only break your pretty things
       F G C Am

G#out the girl I could have been, my dear
       Am
'Cause in the night I know you burn with feelings
                    F
I cannot return, my dear

Oh, my dear

I'm keeping all

I will only break your pretty things
       F G Am
I will only wring you dry of everything

You can be mine

You can be mine

Okay so I’m playing this transposed -2 for vocal purposes but I’ve noticed playing through the main four chords (in my case it’s Gm, Eb, Bb, F) during the verses rather than just two of them gives it a lot more life since most people learning it don’t have a banjo backing to keep the rhythm.

Anyone know an easier note to do instead of E? Seriously, I’m struggling with that note so much.

Biography

Destiny itself assembled the Crane Wives, and now they seek only to make music worthy of destiny. That, and act as silly as humanly possible.

“The Crane Wife is an old Japanese tale. While there are many variations of the tale, a common version is that a poor man finds an injured crane on his doorstep (or outside with an arrow in it), takes it in and nurses it back to health. After he releases the crane, a woman appears at his doorstep with whom he falls in love and marries.
