Intro: C C F C

         C
I am weak, but I think I'm strong

If I don't like the truth then I swear it's wrong
           F
I was born asking why, I was born looking up
            C
I was born telling lies, singing don't give me love

But you came like a thunderstorm

Lit a fire in me and it kept me warm
                     F
When I was rollin', rollin', strollin' on
                   C
You took my heart by the hand til my plans were gone

         Am G C
I've walked this road alone, dear
         Am G C
And I used to think it made me free
          Am G C F
But if letting love stay makes a man a slave
           Am G C
Cmon darlin' won't you hypnotize me?
            Am G C
Cmon darlin' won't you hypnotize me?

Interlude: -Ooooh X4- C C F C

           C
When it rains and the path erodes

When the fog rolls in and my progress slows
            F
I used to laugh in my head, used to cry to myself
                C
I'm used to cutting lying loose-?-, putting love on the shelf
                Am
But then you saved me darling with a turn of your head
           G
And you built me a home with the tears I shed
          C
You said "don't hide your sorrow, the blood you bled,
             F
We were made to break so somebody could fix us again"

        Am G C
I've walked this road alone, dear
          Am G C
And I used to think it made me free
           Am G C F
But if letting love stay makes a man a slave
            Am G C
Cmon darlin' won't you hypnotize me?
            Am G C
Cmon darlin' won't you hypnotize me?

Interlude: -Ooooh X4- C C F C

Am G C Am G C Am G C Am G C
I'm in love I'm in love, in love, in love

Am C
Don't even know what you've done for me?
 F G
It's not enough to feel it
        F G C
I don't why I bare this scar I wear
        F G
But I know you were made to heal it
        Am G C
And I know you were made to save me
                 Am G C
And lift me up where the flowers grow
           Am G C
And I never thought I'd say it darlin'
                    Am G C
You're the greatest peace I know
                               Am G C
Darlin' you're the greatest peace I know

          Am G C
I've walked this road alone, dear
          Am G C
And I used to think it made me free
           Am G C
But if letting love stay makes a man a slave
             Am G C
Cmon darlin' won't you hypnotize me?
        Am F C
Cmon darlin' won't you hypnotize me?
        Am G C
Cmon darlin' won't you hypnotize me?
        Am G C
Cmon darlin' won't you hypnotize me?

Biography

Drawing inspiration from screwing up (a lot), Taylor Berrett has been writing and performing songs for five years. His music can best be described as blues-influenced acoustic folk-pop that floats from sarcasm to sincerity, but he will also take “good” or “bad” as acceptable descriptions, based on individual opinion. In addition to songwriting, Taylor actively pursues guitar playing. His recently-obsessive study of jazz and blues instrumentation occasionally hops over into his songwriting before it is shooed back into its corner.
