I put on a play in my old house

Mom and dad, both seats sold out

Show you my play
F
Haven't seen the old house lately
F
Wonder if they found my spaceship
Bbmaj7
I don't want my own love wasted
Bbmaj7
Tell me this is what you're saying:

Pre-Chorus:
      Gm7 Am7
If you both outgrew one another
       Bb Am7
I could start now, looking for a lover
      Gm7 Am7
But if love dies, do I xxxxing bother?

Chorus:
Bb F
I just really really really really wanna show you my play
                                            Bbmaj7
And I don't wanna do it for Dad at Dad's new place
                                        Bb Gm
I worked really, really, really, really hard, lemme show you my play
      Bbmaj7 | F | % |
And I don't wanna do it twice, 'cause it's not the same

Verse 2:
F
I've been on dates, bringing flowers
F
Tryna' be great for an hour
Bbmaj7
You and me might go sour
          Bbmaj7
But if we don't hold out, then we're cowards
F
I put on a play in my basement -basement-
F
Mom and Dad smiling faces -faces-
    Bbmaj7
But now I don't know if they faked it -faked it-
      Bbmaj7
Guess everything is complicated

Pre-Chorus:
      Gm7 Am7
If you both outgrew one another
       Bb Am7
I could start now, looking for a lover
      Gm7 Am7
But if love dies, do I xxxxing bother?

Chorus:
Bb F
I just really really really really wanna show you my play
                                            Bbmaj7
And I don't wanna do it for Dad at Dad's new place
                                        Bb Gm
I worked really, really, really, really hard, lemme show you my play
      Bbmaj7 F Bbm
And I don't wanna do it twice, 'cause it's not the same

Post-Chorus:
F Bbm F
You did everything, everything, everything that you could
      Bbm F
We do everything, everything, everything 'til it's through
        Dm C Bb
I'll do everything, everything, everything when I'm you

Outro:
                       F
But when I show you my play
                                                Bb
Will you pretend you didn't know if I make a mistake?
                                              Bb Gm
It's gonna get really, really, really, really bad before it's okay
    Bbmaj7 F
But maybe you'll forget it all while you're watching my play
