Seasons Of Love

Some people may find that using the transposer to turn the chords 1 half step down and putting a capo on fret 1 is more in key than the chords posted, but that's up to you ;-). Turning it one half step also makes it easier.

Intro: F Eb Bb - repeat -

 F Eb
Five hundred twenty-five thousand
 Bb F
Six hundred minutes,
 F Eb
Five hundred twenty-five thousand
 Bb F
Moments so dear.
 F Eb
Five hundred twenty-five thousand
 Bb F
Six hundred minutes
    F Eb Bb F
How do you measure, measure a year?

    F Eb Bb
In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights
   F
In cups of coffee
    F Eb Bb F
In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife.

    F Eb
In five hundred twenty-five thousand
 Bb F
Six hundred minutes
   F Eb
How do you measure
  Bb
a year in the life?

F Eb-Bb-F
How about love?
F Eb-Bb-F
How about love?
F Eb-Bb-F Bb
How about love? Measure in love

F Eb-Bb-F F Eb-Bb-F
Seasons of love. Seasons of love...

- It's F Eb Bb F throughout the whole song. -

Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Six hundred minutes!
Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Journeys to plan.

Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Six hundred minutes
How do you measure the life
Of a woman or a man?

In truths that she learned,
Or in times that he cried.
In Bridges he burned,
Or the way that she died.

It's time now to sing out,
Tho' the story never ends
Let's celebrate
Remember a year in the life of friends
Remember the love!
Remember the love!
Seasons of love!

Oh you got to got to
Remember the love!
You know that love is a gift from up above
Share love, give love spread love
Measure measure your life in love.

Actually the chords sound better if they go F, C, Bb, F.

Adding to the comments above!
for verses, keep the pattern F C Bb F – in the 4th rotation of that pattern (ie. how do you measure, measure a year) change the first F to a Dm (relative minor). If you have any places where you don’t think the lyrics fit above your playing, try using that Dm substitution!
that bridge section is definitely rockin it. Remember to switch back to the F C Bb F in the “seasons of love” chorus after the bridge. You can also try the relative minor tonality, with a Dm Am/C Bb F!

I think thatonekidme06374 is correct. A few other notes:
Approximately every other time it progresses through the chords the last one should be Dm instead of F.
The first time it says “seasons of love” the chords should be Eb, Eb, Bb, F, the second time they are Eb, Eb, Bb, C, and the third time the prior pattern is repeated.
Also some of the time F does not sound right as the first chord, although I do not know what it should be.

Sorry, I meant when it says “how about love,” not seasons of love in my other comment. So most of the time it’s correct.

Biography

Rent is the name of more than one artist.
1) synth-pop duo
2) Italian post-punk

It may also be an incorrect artist tag for a soundtrack by Jonathan Larson. If so, please fix your tags. The easiest way is to use MusicBrainz Picard. Thank you.

1) Rent was a Synth-Pop duo from England. The members were Clayton Littlewood and Robert Brown. They released at least one CD EP called “I Love To Be Queer”. The title song was featured on Queer Music Heritage’s radio show in January 2005 http://www.queermusicheritage.us/jan2005.html
