Chorus:
                          F
Did we kiss cause it was dark?
           G
Or did we mean it?
                       Em
Was my embarrassment enough
           C7
To make you see it?
                        F
Your lips have made it tough
           G
To keep believin
                   Em
You were temporary talk
                    A
To last just for a season

Verse:
 F
Hanging up the lights
            G
With the intensity and strife
          C
Of your avoidance like a knife
       C7
In my cotton candy side
     F
I'm hoping for a fight
          G
In this imaginary vibe
             C
That I have caught and totemized
      C7
To replace you when you hide

Chorus:
                              F
So did we kiss 'cause it was dark?
           G
Or did we mean it?
                       Em
Was my embarrassment enough
             C7
To make you see it?
                         F
Your hands have made it tough
           G
To keep believing
                    Em
You were temporary talk
                    A
To last just for a season

The Db in this seems to be misplaced. Anyone else feel that way?

Ukulele Person ;)

Hey, here are the correct lyrics, as on every site I could find:

Lately I been, I been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But baby I been, I been prayin’ hard
Said no more counting dollars
We’ll be counting stars
Yeah, we’ll be counting stars
I see this life
Like a swinging vine
Swing my heart across the line
In my faces flashing signs
Seek it out and ye shall find
The old, but I’m not that old
Young, but I’m not that bold
And I don’t think the world is sold
I’m just doing what we’re told
I, feel something so right
Doing the wrong thing
I, feel something so wrong
But doing the right thing
I could lie, could lie, could lie
Everything that kills me makes me feel alive
Lately I been, I been losing sleep
Dreaming ’bout the things that we could be
Baby I been, I been prayin’ hard
Said no more counting dollars
We’ll be counting stars
Lately I been, I been losing sleep
Dreaming ’bout the things that we could be
But baby I been, I been prayin’ hard
Said no more counting dollars
We’ll be, we’ll be counting stars
I feel the love
And I feel it burn
Down this river every turn
Hope is a four letter word
Make that money
Watch it burn
Old, but I’m not that old
Young, but I’m not that bold
And I don’t think the world is sold
I’m just doing what we’re told
I, feel something so wrong
But doing the right thing
I could lie, could lie, could lie
Everything that drowns me makes me wanna fly
Lately I been, I been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things that we could be
Baby I been, I been prayin’ hard
Said no more counting dollars
We’ll be counting stars
Lately I been, I been losing sleep
Dreaming ’bout the things that we could be
But baby I been, I been prayin’ hard
Said no more counting dollars
We’ll be, we’ll be counting stars
Take that money and watch it burn
Sink in the river the lessons I learned
Take that money and watch it burn
Sink in the river the lessons I learned
Take that money and watch it burn
Sink in the river the lessons I learned
Take that money and watch it burn
Sink in the river the lessons I learned
Everything that kills me makes me feel alive
Lately I been, I been losing sleep
Dreaming ’bout the things that we could be
Baby I been, I been prayin’ hard
Said no more counting dollars
We’ll be counting stars
Lately I been, I been losing sleep
Dreaming ’bout the things that we could be
Baby I been, I been prayin’ hard
Said no more counting dollars
We’ll be, we’ll be counting stars

-4 is the easiest to play on the ukulele for beginners

AquariusWillow

Does anyone else have a problem with strumming and singing at the same time? If so what can I do to get better? Also,/+3 is super easy.

Kate

Since nobody ever really leaves strumming patterns, I’ll just say that I used D DU UDU.

Cleo J.

For a strumming pattern, I use D DUD. Also, does anyone have a replacement for Db on the -4 transposition? When I play it, it sounds off. There is something wrong about it, and I hope that someone can provide a replacement. 🙂 Thanks. -BTW, I love this song, and these chords are really accurate 🙂

Biography

spill tab – aka Claire Chicha – is a multi-talented wonder. The Los Angeles-based, French-Korean artist binned off her right-out-of-college stint as assistant tour manager for Gus Dapperton to pursue her own music; a seductive take on intimate bedroom pop that sees her thoroughly showing off her French roots combined with grimy late-night vibes. Just a handful of songs deep so far, her tracks bring together a multitude of influences for an experience that offers something new on every listen.
