Intro: Emaj7 Ebm7 Dmaj7 Dbm7

Verse 1:
Emaj7 Ebm7
She dragged my heart into the flames
                         Dmaj7
She's pleasure and she's pain
                        Dbm7
She's more than what I bargained for -Initially I-
Emaj7 Ebm7
Thought she was sand between my toes
                     Dmaj7
But now she's in my clothes
                   Dbm7
Shoes, socks, and nose -Oh no, now I'm getting itchy-
Emaj7 Ebm7
In the winter you're a bright and sunny day
       Dmaj7 Dbm7 E
Then you go and turn to rain just when I think it's safe to play

Chorus:
           Bmaj7 Emaj7 Amaj7
And that's why I love you -You bring the joy into the darkness of dismay-
Bmaj7 Emaj7 Amaj7
Why I need you -You put the color into boring shades of gray-
Bmaj7 Emaj7 Amaj7
Like August rain into the summer -No one could ever take your place-
Bmaj7 Emaj7 Amaj7
You are the dеssert to my supper -Supper, a flowеr, the sweetness to my sour-
                                        Bmaj7
You bring the light into the darkest of days

Verse 2:
Emaj7 Ebm7
And it's complicated, convoluted
             Dmaj7
No batteries included
                             Dbm7
When you picture it in your mind
Emaj7 Ebm7
But when she's here everything falls into place
       Dmaj7 Dbm7 E
Like a brushstroke in this painting of her and I -Mm-

You are the dessert to my supper -Supper, a flower---
Bmaj7 Emaj7 Amaj7
Why I love you -You bring the joy into the darkness of dismay-
Bmaj7 Emaj7 Amaj7
Why I need you -You put the color into boring shades of gray-
Bmaj7 Emaj7 Amaj7
Like August rain into the summer -No one could ever take your place-
Bmaj7 Emaj7 Amaj7
You are the dessert to my supper -Supper, a flower, the sweetness to my sour-
                                        Bmaj7
You bring the light into the darkest of days
