Bm D A G -x2-

Verse 1:
             Bm D
When I was a young boy living in the city
              A G
All I did was run run run run run
               Bm D
Staring at the lights, they look so pretty
            A G
Momma said “son son son son son
                  Bm D
You’re gonna grow up, you’re gonna get old
         A G
All that glitters don’t turn to gold
          Bm D
But until then just have your fun
     A G
Boy, run run run run run”

Chorus:
              Bm D A G
Yeah, run run run
        Bm D A G
Run run run

Verse 2:
             Bm D
When I was a young kid living in the city
              A G
All I did was pay pay pay pay pay
                 Bm D
And every single dime that good Lord gave me
                A G
I could make it last 3, 4, 5 days
          Bm D
Living it up but living down low
             A G
Chasing that luck before I get old
                  Bm D
And looking back, oh, we had some fun
    A G
Boy run run run run run

Chorus:
Bm D A G
They tell you that the sky might fall
Bm D A G
They’ll say that you might lose it all
Bm D A G
So I run until I hit that wall
       Bm D
Yeah I learned my lesson, count my blessings
A G Bm
Look to the rising sun and run run run

             D A G
Yeah, one day well the sky might fall
Bm D A G
Yeah onе day I could lose it all

So I run until I hit that wall
     Bm D

Run run run

Verse 3:
Bm D
Didn’t get everything that I wanted
    A G
But I got what I need, yeah yeah
  Bm D
I see that light in the morning
A G
Shining down on me
              Bm D
So take me up high, take me down low
             A G
Where it all ends nobody knows
          Bm D
But until then let’s have some fun, yeah
A G
Run run run run run

Chorus:
Bm D A G
They tell you that the sky might fall
Bm D A G
They’ll say that you might lose it all

After a few years of moderate success, they have since drawn mainstream attention with the release of their single “Apologize,” which has sold in excess of 7 million singles worldwide. The song, according to SoundScan Data, is one of only two songs that have reached 3 million legal downloads in history.
