Intro -x2-: F G Am Dm

Verse 1:
F G
  Found myself up here
                   Am
Suspended in the air
               G
Way too high above
                       F
Oh, I wanna be down there
                  G
Watchin' people pass
               Am
Faces tell a tale
                   G
Larger than I'll know
                         F
But I'm forgin' my own path

Pre-Chorus:
                     G
I'm standin' here alone
                       Am
Just need someone to hold
                     G C F
I'd like it if you could be with me, oh
                      G
Just asking for a friend
                     Am
Someone you'd recommend
                    G C F
Nothing to gain to just be with me, oh

Chorus:
    G Am
Oh, oh, just asking for a friend
 G F
Oh, just asking for a friend

Post-Chorus:
                      G
-Asking for a friend, asking for a friend-
 Am G
-Asking for a friend, asking for a friend-

Verse 2:
F G
  And if they came along
                       Am
I'd be there for them too
                   G C F
'Cause everybody needs a different point of view
                          G
The clouds will come and go
                     Am
In sunshine and in snow
                   G C F
It's a universal thing to want someone you know

Pre-Chorus:
                     G
I'm standin' here alone
                       Am
Just need someone to hold
                     G C F
I'd like it if you could be with me, oh
                      G
Just asking for a friend
                     Am
Someone you'd recommend
                    G C F
Nothing to gain to just be with me, oh

Chorus:
    G Am
Oh, oh, just asking for a friend
 G F
Oh, just asking for a friend

                      G

 Am G

 F G
-Asking for a friend, asking for a friend-
 Am G
-Asking for a friend, asking for a friend-

Pre-Chorus:
F G
  I'm standin' here alone
                       Am
Just need someone to hold
                     G F
I'd like it if you could be with me, oh
                      G
Just asking for a friend
                     Am
Someone you'd recommend
                    G F
Nothing to gain to just be with me, oh

Chorus:
    G Am
Oh, oh, just asking for a friend
 G C F
Oh, asking for a friend
                      G
-Asking for a friend, asking for a friend-
 Am G
-Asking for a friend, asking for a friend-
