Intro: Blah!

Verse 1:
Am F
I was born in a messed up century
               C E
My favourite flavoured sweets are raspberry amphetamines
    Am F
I bought a car, Beretta age sixteen
           C
I brush my teeth with bleach
                  E
€˜Cause I ain'€™t got time for cavities
     Am F
My daddy put a gun to my head
              C E
Said if you kiss a boy, I'm gonna shoot you dead
      Am
So I tied him up with gaffa tape
         F
And I locked him in a shed
         C
Then I went out to the garden
         E
And I xxxxed my best friend

Chorus:
         F C Am
'Cause my high hopes are getting low
               G
Because these people are so old
    F C Am
The way they think about it all
       G
If I tried, I would never know
  F C Am
My high hopes are getting low
       G
But I know I'll never be alone
F C Am
It's alright, we'll survive
              -nc-
'Cause parents ain't always right

Refrain:
  Am F
I-I-I-I-I, I-I-I-I-I
   C E
I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I
  Am F
I-I-I-I-I, I-I-I-I-I
   C E
I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I

Verse 2:
                         -nc-
Put a toaster in my bath, watch my mum and dad laugh
        C E
See a thousand volts go through the son they wish they never had
               Am F
They told me casual affection leads to xxxual infection
           C E
But it's hard to get an erection when you're so used to rejection
            Am
Yeah, the teacher xxxxed the preacher
         F
Then he had to leave her
        C E
Had to wash away the sins of a male cheerleader
      Am F
"Hi! nice to meet ya," got nothing to believe in
    C E
So let me know when my breathing stops

Chorus:
           F C Am
'Cause my high hopes are getting low
          G
Because these people are so old
   F C Am
The way they think about it all
       G
If I tried, I would never know

My high hopes are getting low

Biography

Yungblud is Dominic Harrison from Doncaster, United Kingdom, an indie rock musician whose debut track, King Charles, a proper 21st century protest song, was released in the Summer of 2017. ‘King Charles’ is two and a half minutes of rage against the system. The tune’s driving back-beat almost makes it resemble a hip-hop crossover.

The name “YUNGBLUD” came from him being the youngest member of his management roster. His manager used to call him “The Youngblood”.
