Intro -x2-: A Gbm

Verse:
A Gbm
Sun is coming up slowly,
A Gbm
I didn't read it in your star-sign or mine.
A Gbm
God knows we're not holy,
A Gbm D
in decisions we make and how we spend our time.
                     Bm
But I got faster and faster,
D Bm
and you got harder to please,
                      A
and you got harder to find.
                     Gbm
And our prayers were answered,
A Gbm D
when we wrote these songs and we lost our minds.

Chorus:
D A D A
And all our most brilliant friends are doubting themselves.
          D
And we're scared about the world,
                                    A D A
the atmosphere, our bodies, and our health.
        Gbm
So just dance with me
                          D
move your body round this time machine
          A D A
start it again.
A Gbm
I want you to celebrate,
                        D
the fact our bodies can recreate
                   A D A
new versions of ourselves. We won't need help.

Verse:
A Gbm
Something's making me nervous,
A Gbm A
running through my body, can't remember why.
                          Gbm
We thought we had all the answers,
A Gbm D
we got the stomach to learn, but haven't got the time.
                Bm
Your body looks good tonight
D Bm
I wonder if you'd care,
                       A
if I was still in your shirt.
                        Gbm
The way we were when we first met,
A Gbm D
before your mind filled with air and mine with dirt.

Chorus:
D A D A
And all our most brilliant friends are doubting themselves.
          D
And we're scared about the world,
                                    A D A
the atmosphere, our bodies, and our health.
A Gbm
So just dance with me
                          D
move your body round this time machine
          A D A
start it again.
              Gbm
I want you to celebrate,
                        D
the fact our bodies can recreate
                   A D A
new versions of ourselves. We won't need help.
Gbm
Hey hey, look at him go
D A D A
Hey hey, look at him go
Gbm
Hey hey, look at him go
D A D A
Hey hey, look at him go!

Bridge:
A -xF#m-x
You know that it's gonna take time don't you?
A -xF#m-x
you know that you never were right.
        D D
But the fact is you're good, yeah, we know that you're nice.
       D D
But we don't get a world and we don't get a life,

Chorus:
D A D A
where all our most brilliant friends are doubting themselves.
          D
And we're scared about the world,
                                    A D A
the atmosphere, our bodies, and our health.
        Gbm
So just dance with me
                          D
move your body round this time machine
          A D A
start it again. Start it all again
              Gbm
I want you to celebrate,
                        D
the fact our bodies can recreate
                   A D A
new versions of ourselves. We won't need help.
Gbm
Hey hey, look at him go
D A D A
Hey hey, look at him go
Gbm
Hey hey, look at him go
D A D A D A D A D A
Hey hey, look at him go!
