Verse:
C D
She calls me from the cold
                 C D
Just when I was low, feeling short of stable
C D
All that she intends
                      C D
And all she keeps inside, isn't on the label

C D Em D
She's, she's ashamed
            C D Em D
And she can take me for a while
C D C
And can I be a friend, we'll forget the past
                  D
Or maybe I'm not able
         D
And I break at the bend

Chorus:
Em Em Am G C D
We're here and now, will we ever be again
Am G C
Cause I have found
       C C
All that shimmers in this world is sure to fade
 D C D
Away again

Verse:
    C D
She dreams the champagne dream
            C D
Strawberry surprise, pink linen on white paper
C D
Lavender and cream
              C D
Fields of butterflies, reality escapes her

C D Em D C D Em D
She says that love is for fools that fall behind
C D
I'm somewhere in between
                 C D
I never really know a killer from a savior
      D
And I break at the bend

Chorus:
Em Em Am G C D
We're here and now, will we ever be again
Am G C
Cause I have found
       C C
All that shimmers in this world is sure to fade
 D C D
Away again

Outro:
C D Em D
It's too far away for me to hold
C D Em
Too far away

C D Em D
It's too far away for me to hold
C D Em
Too far away

Biography

Fuel is an American alternative rock/post-grunge band formed by friends Carl Bell, Jeff Abercrombie and Brett Scallions in 1989. Originally from Tennessee, Fuel moved to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where they played local Pennsylvania bars and nightclubs. Their first EP Porcelin was released in 1996, and sold well locally, spawning a small radio hit with “Shimmer.” The popularity of the EP brought them to the attention of Sony’s 550 imprint, which released their second EP, Hazelton, the following year.
