Intro: Bm D G G Em Bm A

Verse:
Bm D G
I'm half remembered, halfway across the world,
                                G
Twice removed from my second home,
     Em Bm
a shadow of a ghost in an old haunt,
           A
With a lease on life 'cause I can't afford to own,
Bm D
When being young starts getting old,
          G G
a new place saves face or so I'm told,
              Em
I'll be the new kid on an old block,
Bm A
a chalk outline on a playground black top.

Chorus:
             Bm D
I'm just a moment so don't let me pass you by,
                  G A
We could be a story in the morning but we'll be a legend tonight,
             Bm D
I'm just a moment so don't let me pass you by,
                          G A
And they can speak our names in a dead language 'cause you and I,
                              Bm
We're alive, but just for a moment.

Verse:
Bm D
I'm twice the man that I thought I was yesterday,
G G
Half the time I'm a world away,
    Em Bm
a flicker of a soul casting silhouettes,
          A
On the face of a town that could not get me to stay,
Bm
  When the spark's gone,
          D G G
Former lovers just looking for a bus to throw me under,
              Em
I'll be the new kid on an old block,
Bm A
a chalk outline on a playground black top.

Chorus:
             Bm D
I'm just a moment so don't let me pass you by,
                 G A
We could be a story in the morning but we'll be a legend tonight,
             Bm D
I'm just a moment so don't let me pass you by,
                          G A
And they can speak our names in a dead language 'cause you and I,
                              G
We're alive, but just for a moment,
A G A
  Just for a moment.

Bridge:
Bm D
When being young starts getting old,
          G G
a new place saves face or so I'm told,
              Em
I'll be the new kid on an old block,
Bm A
A chalk outline on a playground black top.

Chorus:
             Bm D
I'm just a moment so don't let me pass you by,
                 G A
We could be a story in the morning but we'll be a legend tonight,
             Bm D
I'm just a moment so don't let me pass you by,
                          G A
And they can speak our names in a dead language 'cause you and I,
                              Bm
We're alive, but just for a moment,
              D
  Just for a moment,
              G
  Just for a moment.
