Intro: Gb

Verse:
Gb
Seventeen years by her side
               Bbm
Broke the same bread
               Db
Wore the same clothes and we said
      Gb
We're sisters with nothing between
             Bbm
If one of us fall
Db Gb Bbm Db Gb Bbm Db
The other will soon be following

Gb
Both of you fell the same day
               Bbm
You don't know why
           Db
One of you never woke up
        Gb
And you laid your body down on the floor
                    Bbm Db
You're desperate to hear her footsteps again
                     Ab Gb
But this house is on fire, we need to go

Pre-Chorus:
 Bbm Db Ab
Oh, you don't have to go it alone, go it alone

Chorus:
             Db
Run for your life, my love
            Ab
Run and you don't give up
                  Gb
It's all that you are
             Bbm
All that you want
          Db Ab
I will be close behind
                Gb
Run for your life

Verse:
Gb
She had a fire inside
                 Bbm
And that terrified you
                    Db Gb
You swore that you'd never lose your control

Baby, let yourself go
                   Bbm
'cause part of you hides
               Db Ab
And I know the hunger inside of you's strong
                                 Gb
You can only hold back the river so long

Pre-Chorus:
 Bbm Db Ab
Oh, you don't have to go it alone
 Bbm Db Ab
Oh, you don't have to go it alone, go it alone

Chorus:
             Db
Run for your life, my love
            Ab
Run and you don't give up
             Gb
All that you are
             Bbm
All that you want
             Db
Run for your life right now
           Ab
And if you don't know how
                    Gb Bbm
I'll come back with you and take all that's true
                     Db Ab
And leave all that's burned behind
                 Gb Db
Run for your life

Pre-Chorus:
Bbm Db Ab
Oh, you don't have to go it alone
      Db Ab
Go it alone, go it alone,

Chorus:
             Db
Run for your life, my love
            Ab
Run and you don't give up
             Gb
All that you are
             Bbm
All that you want
             Db
Run for your life right now
           Ab
And if you don't know how
                    Gb Bbm
I'll come back with you and take all that's true
                 Db Ab
Leave all that's burned behind

Instead of the dreaded ‘E’ chord, I used e 7 so there wouldn’t be an awkward pause between Am and the other…….It works for me, it sounds basically the same but just easier to transition

OH MY G- I LOVE THIS SONG *headbangs into wall*

Heythatsprettygood

No! Why would you do that ‘truelivesofthefaboulousphangirls’?!? It doesn’t sound right.

Kat In The Hat

The way I like to sing it works well with either -5 or even +5

mcasper96

I did the same thing before reading the comments and maybe they did it because E is absolutely impossible to play?!?! It does sound better in my opinion, but you do you ‘Heythatsprettygood’.

Danielle

E7 works best for this song

Anyone know the strumming pattern?

Oli

I’m afraid you got some if the lyrics wrong, instead of “god damn arms race” its “gah dah ah rah” *haha kill me*
