Verse 1:
Em C
I can say things I don't always mean
                             Em
When people get too close to me
                               C
Don't know where it comes from honestly
    Em C
And you weren't perfect yeah, you had your lows
                           Em
But I'd say you got pretty close
                         C
Don't know how you could put up with me

Pre-Chorus:
         Em
I was so caught up in my own thoughts
      C
Don't think that I understood
                   Em
When you said that you just couldn't take it
     C
That I would lose you for good

Chorus:
    Em D C
Oh, I didn't think this over
                       D Em
Fell back when you got closer
                                   D
After I just put you right through hell
    C D Em
You couldn't hate me more than I hate myself
                  D C D Em
I'd always act so selfish at xxxx I hadn't dealt with
                                   D
After I just put you right through hell
    C nc
You couldn't hate me more than I hatе myself

Verse 2:
   Em C
We both know I might be thе worst at goodbyes
                                   Em
But I looked at you straight and I lied
                      C
And acted like I'd be fine
    Em C
Sometimes when I care, think I tend to shut off
                          Em
Like nothing could matter enough

Why would you let me keep doing that
C
You should've stopped me, but

Pre-Chorus:
         Em
I was so caught up in my own thoughts
      C
Don't think that I understood
                   Em
When you said that you just couldn't take it
     C
That I would lose you for good

Chorus:
    Em D C
Oh, I didn't think this over
                       D Em
Fell back when you got closer
                                   D
After I just put you right through hell
    C D Em
You couldn't hate me more than I hate myself
                  D C D Em
I'd always act so selfish at xxxx I hadn't dealt with
                                   D
After I just put you right through hell
    C
You couldn't hate me more than I hatе myself

Bridge:
   Am
So off I go to hurt you again
  Em
I shut you out to try to forget
     Am
That I'm the one who's xxxxed in the end
      Em
Cause baby, you'll be happier with someone else
   Am
So off I go to hurt you again
  Em
I shut you out to try to forget
     C
That I'm the one who's xxxxed in the end
          -nc-
Cause you couldn't hate me more than I hate myself

Outro:
Em D C
I didn't think this over
                       D Em
Fell back when you got closer
                                   D
After I just put you right through hell
    C
You couldn't hate me more than I hate myself
