Intro: E B Dbm A B E B Dbm B

Verse:
Dbm B E
Didn't you want to hear

the sound of all the
Dbm
places we could go
       B
Do you fear the expressions
       A
on the faces we don't know
B E
It's a cold hard road

when you wake up
    Dbm
and I don't think that I
          B A
Have the strength to let you go

Chorus:
      B E
Maybe it's just me
               B
Couldn't you believe
                  Dbm
that everything I said and
                  A
did wasn't just deceiving
                B E
And the tear in your eye
                   B
and your calm hard face
                   Dbm
makes me wish that I was never
          B A
brought into this place

Verse:
Dbm B E
There goes my ring

It might as well
          Dbm
have been shattered
                B
and I'm here to sing
                      A
about the things that mattered
                 B E
about the things that made us
                     Dbm
feel alive for oh so long
                      B
about the things that kept you
                A
on my side when I was wrong

Chorus:
      B E
Maybe it's just me
               B
Couldn't you believe
                  Dbm
that everything I said and
                  A
did wasn't just deceiving
                B E
And the tear in your eye
                   B
and your calm hard face
                   Dbm
makes me wish that I was never
          B A
brought into this place

Interlude: Dbm B A

Bridge:
           A Dbm
And someday I promise
B A
I'll be gone
           A
And someday I might
Dbm B A
even sing this song
   A Dbm
To you I might even
B A
sing this song to you to you
    B E A
and I was crying alone tonight
    B Dbm
and I was wasting all of my
B E
life just thinking of you
             A
So just come back
              Dbm
we'll make it better
             B
So Just come back
I'll make it
E A B
better than it ever was
E A B
better than it ever was

Chorus -x2-:
      B E
Maybe it's just me
               B
Couldn't you believe
                  Dbm
that everything I said and
                  A
did wasn't just deceiving
                B E
And the tear in your eye
                   B
and your calm hard face
                   Dbm
makes me wish that I was never
          B A
brought into this place

Outro:
Dbm B E
Maybe it's just me

Biography

Secondhand Serenade is a one man band from Menlo Park, California. John Vesely, 30, sings and plays guitar and piano. His music is characterized by multitrack recording so he can create the sound of a band by himself. He uses multitrack recording to create vocal harmonies, and a lead acoustic guitar over strummed chords.

After the breakup of Sounds Like Life, featuring himself and Ronnie Day, Vesely started writing and performing his songs solo under the name Secondhand Serenade.
